They immediately knew this space was different. It was a place they could come to celebrate good news or a place where their feelings would be validated and accepted without judgment. The bean bag chair was quickly claimed as a favorite spot, the soft lighting created a peaceful tone, and the sensory tools were an instant hit. It has been so heartwarming to see students light up when they realize this room was created just for them.\r\n\r\nSince adding these resources, I have already witnessed so many meaningful moments. A student who came in feeling overwhelmed found comfort in squeezing a Needoh ball until they were ready to open up. Others have stopped in for a snack to help them get through the morning or curled up in the bean bag chair when they needed a quiet break. These simple tools may seem small, but they have created powerful opportunities for deeper conversations and stronger connections.\r\n\r\nMy focus now is on continuing to build trust and relationships with both students and staff so that when challenges arise, students know they have someone safe to turn to. The sensory tools are becoming part of teaching self-regulation skills, and I am creating space to display student artwork so they can see themselves reflected in the room. None of this would be possible without your generosity. Because of you, my students walk into a space that immediately tells them they are safe, they are cared for, and they belong. These resources may look simple on the outside, but for my students they are the beginning of trust, comfort, and connection. Thank you for helping create a place that reminds every student who walks through the door, \"You belong here.\"","fullyFundedDate":1754593532457,"projectUrl":"project/a-place-to-be-seen-heard-and-supported/9524579/","projectTitle":"A Place to Be Seen, Heard, and Supported","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Haylee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9794020_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754073698205","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9794020"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_37535","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":462,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":70.4,"schoolId":37535,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Logan Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Logan Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/la-crosse-school-district/logan-middle-school/37535"}
