These moves have always brought excitement, as well as anxiousness, as to how to fit a square peg into a round hole.\r\n\r\nAs I was aware that I would be losing floor space, hence shelving that was utilized for manipulatives, I created a Donors Choose Project to help bridge that gap for my students-and YOU made that happen for us! The new toy bin shelves have given me the opportunity to offer even more opportunities for the children's \"choice time\" than I even had before without the extra shelving that I had to give up.\r\n\r\nYour kindness and generosity has greatly helped in settling into our new home, new environment and new level of learning. The ability to independently choose learning items to extend my students' learning has been taken to a new and better level. Our program utilizes the High Scope Curriculum, and a fully immersed hands-on-learning approach; the gel sensory pads and sensory number trays are an exciting addition to spark our kiddo's interest in exploring with letter and number formations.\r\n\r\nMy goal as a teacher is to make learning fun, exciting, inviting and to provide our students an environment where they want to be; if the children have a love for learning and a desire to be a part of our classroom culture, then I feel that we have succeeded. School must be a place where the students WANT to be....WANT to explore, grow and learn. When I introduced these new additions, I saw only eagerness and desire to explore with the items from every student in the classroom! (We added foam sparkle hearts to the number trays which was also a big hit!)
