These new paddles and balls made an incredible difference for our younger students. The lightweight paddles allowed for the students who practice form instead of worrying about how heavy the old paddles were. \r\n\r\nThis equipment allowed all students to use the lightweight paddles at the same time instead of sharing the 6 lightweight paddles currently being used. There were no arguments because all students had a new pickleball paddles which made them so happy.\r\n\r\nI am very excited and grateful for your generosity and look forward to seeing the progression of these students in the years. Even though our school is grades 3-5, we have very wide ranges of reading ability. These readers allow me to tailor the reading ability to the practice reader. The students find these far more engaging than some of the more text book guided readers. \r\n\r\nAs a Title 1 teacher, I am always looking to close gaps. These resources gave me tools to help more students and keep them engaged in the lessons. Thank you to Elise Arntzen and OPI for providing this opportunity to Montana teachers. As we know, teachers typically spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars out of their own funds throughout their careers to create quality learning environments and tools for their students. I very much appreciated the opportunity to receive this grant.\r\nI teach library science at two schools, encompassing Kindergarten through 5th grade. I incorporate the instruction of literacy and reading comprehension into my lessons. The Sproutbrite reading comprehension anchor charts I received are fantastic as a visual for the particular topic we are discussing, whether it is author's purpose, genre, nonfiction text features or the many other topics relating to literacy.
