Our first project with the 3-d printer was for their first science STEM this year. They really enjoyed getting to build their own design and then watching the printer print the final products. Students have been able to work through the engineering process, physically and digitally, building vital lifelong skills. And the regular printer has been fabulous for last minute copies or when we need things printed in color.\r\n\r\nMy students were really excited to see the 3-d printer because it is not something they see in the everyday classroom. I have 73 students as of the beginning of January and many of them have been discussing ideas for what the printer could be used for. Some of them have been focused on how it can be used for academics, and some have wanted to discuss ideas for what can be made to do fundraising for different things around the school. It has been amazing to watch so many of them looking at big picture uses for the tool. \r\n\r\nMany students choose to get on the program for creating designs during \"free time\" and create different designs and learn the program. I think the coolest thing that has come from it is that those students are then helping their classmates navigate the program and create designs. They are quick to help each other and are building a very positive classroom community.\r\n\r\nI am so excited to see what unfolds as the year progresses and my students make connections to the curriculum that they can then tie into the engineering process for the 3-d printer.","fullyFundedDate":1757546009669,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-technology-in-the-classroom/9471858/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Technology in the Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Townsend","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10082292"},{"teacherId":6102600,"projectId":9053254,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my classroom. The addition of more wobble stools has allowed for nearly every student to have the option to use a wobble stool every day. We have created an effective rotation system that gives a new group of students the first pick of their seats each day. My students enjoy the choice and flexibility the seating offers them. Students learn effective ways to sit on the wobble stools in order to avoid falling. The new wobble stools have quickly become the classroom favorite since they wobble enough and have wide enough spots to sit. \r\n\r\nWe are incredibly thankful for the addition of new wobble stools.","fullyFundedDate":1746551262882,"projectUrl":"project/wobble-while-you-learn/9053254/","projectTitle":"Wobble While You Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jewell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6102600_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1547425669957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6102600"},{"teacherId":9743948,"projectId":8767553,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your amazing donation to my Reading Intervention classroom.
