My students were so excited for the new materials and equipment. With the funds you provided, we were able to get new pieces for the students to use for their events, new binders for our reading events, as well as other things we needed in our program. \r\nWe are part of a small school, but I have been fortunate to always have a large number of students that participate in Forensics. With a rather limited budget, it can often be difficult to have fresh pieces for the students, so having so many new things from them to utilize has been amazing. Our reading events require a specific type of binder, which can be quite expensive. Our last binders have been taped and retaped on the inside to make them last longer, but the students complained about them so much. I can't express how excited they were to finally be able to get rid of old binders and replace them with new. It's little things like that that make a huge impact! \r\nThank you again so much for choosing our Forensics program for your donation. I firmly believe that speaking events can help everyone in their future lives. I've already been able to use the items in so many ways! In my STEM class we have utilized the legos to work on earthquake proof structures where they built building with the legos and we used a shake table to see where weaknesses were before they had to go rebuild and try again. \r\nThe students loved it! We have used the Carolina Science vouchers for so many hands on experiments and labs. I am a firm believer that students learn more from doing than from just hearing my talk, so I have definitely been able to utilize that this school year! I have used other materials to go along with what I have been teaching in each of my classes. Having hands on visual aids helps so very much! For example, the model of the brain has helped as we learned about the nervous system. Instead of hearing me describe abstractly where the cerebellum or frontal lobe were I could get out the model and show students where they are located. \r\nYour donation has allowed me to do so much more this year already than I would have thought possible.
