This has completely changed the energy in our classroom — students are more motivated, confident, and eager to participate.\r\nOne of our favorite moments came during a recent project where students worked in small groups to solve real-world problems. These additions have made a noticeable difference in both our learning environment and classroom behavior. Your support has helped create a space where students feel more comfortable, focused, and ready to learn each day.\r\n\r\nThe flexible seating has given students the freedom to choose how they learn best—whether it's sitting on a surf tray, or stretching out with a clipboard. This variety has helped them stay engaged and feel more ownership over their learning, rather than being confined to a traditional desk all day. We've seen more positive behavior and increased participation, especially during our daily agenda writing time, which students now look forward to each morning.\r\n\r\nThe electric pencil sharpener has also been a simple but powerful improvement. It saves time by stopping automatically when the pencil is sharp, which has helped reduce distractions and eliminate long lines at the sharpener—often a source of off-task behavior in the past. These small changes have made a big impact, and we're so grateful to you for helping us create a more supportive and efficient learning space. These tools have already made a significant difference in our students' daily learning experiences and in strengthening the connection between school and home. We are incredibly grateful for your support in helping us create a more engaging and inclusive environment.\r\n\r\nEach week, we've been using the printer to create personalized learning recaps that students take home to share with their families. These printed updates include highlights of what we've learned, projects we've worked on, and even photos or drawings by the students. Parents have expressed how much they appreciate these weekly recaps—they feel more connected and present in their child's education, even when they can't be in the classroom. Most importantly, these printouts have encouraged students to open up and talk about their school day, making for more conversations at home.\r\n\r\nThe document camera has also been a tremendous asset. It allows me to model lessons, demonstrate examples, and share student work in real time, making it easier for everyone to follow along and stay engaged. Students are more confident when they can clearly see what's expected, and it helps ensure no one gets left behind. These tools have truly transformed how we learn and communicate, and none of it would be possible without your kindness. My 6th grade students have really enjoyed having book that they can relate too. Two such books that seem to have a bit of a wait list in my class room are Mexican White and Accountable. At first my students did seem a bit shocked when they head the titles of the books. I let them know that these are some books that can possibly relate to some of the tings that are going on in their lives. \r\n\r\nIn our district wide curriculum we had a unit that focused on the use of technology and how it an impact the development of the young mind. It also discussed how the things that we might post on social media might affect others wether we mean to or not. The book, Accountable: The True Story of a Racist Social Media Post and the Teenagers Whose Lives It Changed, really resonated with them and made them realize how one small post can really make and impact. This book along with our curriculum had such an impact that the 6th grade student council decided that they would make Wonderful Wednesdays and every Wednesday they will randomly pick a different grade level and teacher and write each student and staff member a \"You Are Wonderful-Gram!\" They want to make sure that all staff and students know that they are wonderful, amazing and appreciated. \r\n\r\nAgain thank you so much for donating to my dual language class and being able to make an impact for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1727882791895,"projectUrl":"project/6th-grade-ela-doble-lenguaje/8523651/","projectTitle":"6th Grade ELA Doble Lenguaje","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Placido","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9610534_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y100&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723681235560","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9610534"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_72163","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":643,"numTeachers":61,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":71,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":72.5,"schoolId":72163,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Liberty Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Liberty Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/liberty-elementary-school/72163"}
