We have used these supplies the first quarter of the year and they have been amazing!! Students were so excited when they saw the lego wall in the calm down corner for the first time. Students love to get to play with the legos on the lego wall for a reward. The center cart is lifechanging for our centers as well. Students know where centers are for each table and can grab the center buckets on their own and put them away as well. This has made centers so much smoother this year! Because of your donations of both basic supplies and the special items for our drink station, you've helped give my students the tools they need to succeed in so many ways.\r\n\r\nWhen we first unveiled the drink station, the look on their faces said it all—wide eyes, excited chatter, and pure joy. Many of them immediately started discussing which flavors they wanted to try, and one student said, \"It's like we have our own coffee shop, but for kids!\" That sense of excitement and ownership has carried over into how they approach their work.\r\n\r\nWe use the drink station as part of our Smartie Sips reward program, where students earn a flavored drink packet after completing five reading lessons and five math lessons at 80% or higher. This simple reward has done something amazing: it has turned practice and perseverance into something tangible and fun. Students now cheer for each other when someone earns a drink, and they proudly mix their own creations as a way of celebrating their hard work.\r\n\r\nOne moment that stands out happened last week: a student who usually struggles with math lessons finally passed his fifth one in a row. When he realized it meant he earned his first \"Smartie Sip,\" the entire class clapped and celebrated with him. Watching his confidence soar—and knowing your donations played a role in that—was a powerful reminder of why this project matters so much.\r\n\r\nAt the same time, the basic supplies you helped provide have made our day-to-day classroom life run so much smoother. From pencils and paper to organizational materials, these essentials are what allow us to focus more on learning and less on worrying about what we don't have. My students and I are truly grateful for both the fun extras and the foundational items you've given us.\r\n\r\nAs for what's next, we are continuing to set academic goals that connect with the drink station rewards. Students are already brainstorming \"specialty drinks\" they can unlock for hitting classwide goals, and we'll be tracking our progress together. The drink station has become more than a fun incentive; it's now part of how we build community, celebrate effort, and encourage persistence.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. Your generosity gave my students not only flavored drinks, but also flavored memories—sweet, lasting, and full of encouragement.\r\n\r\nWith gratitude,\r\nChely Gregory\r\nLewisburg Elementary – 3rd Grade","fullyFundedDate":1746785707018,"projectUrl":"project/equipped-to-achieve/9289329/","projectTitle":"Equipped to Achieve","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gregory","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8501061_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1655421984999","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-gregoryy"},{"teacherId":8294981,"projectId":9082024,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for these materials! The new resources have brought our lessons to life and sparked creativity in ways we couldn't have imagined before.\r\n\r\nHow We're Using the Resources:\r\nOne of our favorite activities so far has been a hands-on science project where students built their own mini ecosystems using the new supplies. With the materials you helped provide, we created habitats for plants and insects, connecting our lessons to real-world applications. Watching my students carefully construct and observe their ecosystems was incredible—they were so engaged and curious!\r\n\r\nFirst Reactions:\r\nThe day we unpacked the materials was unforgettable. Their faces lit up with excitement, and the classroom was buzzing with questions and ideas. They immediately started brainstorming ways to use the resources, and many students shared how these tools made them feel like \"real scientists\" and \"artists.\"\r\n\r\nWhat's Next:\r\nWe're currently diving into a unit on renewable energy, where students will use the materials to build windmills and solar-powered cars. This next step will challenge them to think critically, collaborate, and apply their knowledge creatively.\r\n\r\nYour support has made all of this possible, and I can't thank you enough for believing in my students and their potential. You've given them the tools to dream big and achieve more, and for that, we are forever grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1719722412384,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-education-one-student-at-a-t/8364804/","projectTitle":"Empowering Education, One Student at a Time!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gregory","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8501061_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1655421984999","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-gregoryy"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58477","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":459,"numTeachers":33,"percentFrplEligible":82,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":91,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":65.6,"schoolId":58477,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lewisburg Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lewisburg Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/logan-county-school-district/lewisburg-elementary-school/58477"}
