The new seating allows students to choose where and how they learn best—whether that's sitting on a stool or donut seats. Having these choices has made students more comfortable, engaged, and focused during lessons.\r\n\r\nOne memorable moment was the day the new seating arrived—students' faces lit up with excitement as they explored each option and eagerly picked their favorite spots. Several students who previously struggled to stay seated during lessons are now more attentive and motivated to participate.","fullyFundedDate":1746785399228,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-thriving-minds/9314547/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Thriving Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Callahan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9158226_orig.jpg?crop=1344,1344,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1691112348276","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9158226"},{"teacherId":9525127,"projectId":9360714,"letterContent":"\nThis project is transforming how learning happens in our classroom and giving my students the tools they need to grow, stay engaged, and succeed. Each of my students brings their own strengths, learning styles, and needs into the classroom. They are creative, determined, and eager to learn, but many rely on hands-on materials, visuals, structure, and flexibility to stay focused and feel confident.\n\nThe technology provided through this project—especially the classroom printer—is making a big difference in how I support my students. In a special education setting, lessons and schedules often need to be adjusted on the spot. Having the ability to print individualized visuals, communication supports, schedules, and academic materials instantly allows me to respond to student needs in real time. This helps students better understand routines, follow directions, and access learning in a way that works for them. What might seem like a simple tool at home becomes a powerful way to create structure, independence, and success in the classroom.\n\nWhat excites my students most about this new resource is how it makes learning more personal and meaningful. They love seeing materials that are made just for them—visual schedules with their names, customized task cards, or printed rewards that celebrate their achievements. These personalized supports not only make learning clearer but also boost their motivation and confidence.\n\nSome students have especially connected with the new technology. For example, students who rely heavily on visual cues are now more independent when following daily routines, and those who struggle with transitions feel more secure when they see a printed schedule that they can hold and reference. The ability to quickly create and update these tools helps them feel more in control of their day, which leads to better focus and greater participation in learning activities.\n\nOverall, this project is helping me create a classroom that is more structured, adaptable, and inclusive. It is giving my students the tools they need to navigate their day successfully, build new skills, and believe in themselves as learners. What might seem like small additions—like a printer, flexible workspaces, and hands-on materials—are actually making a big difference in how my students learn, grow, and shine every day.","fullyFundedDate":1757351521276,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-success-supporting-creativ/9360714/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Success: Supporting Creativity, Organization, and Flexible Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Royce","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9525127"},{"teacherId":9525127,"projectId":9461131,"letterContent":"This project is transforming the way my students experience reading and how they see themselves as learners. My students are imaginative and eager to learn. They light up when stories feel like adventures and thrive when learning is hands-on, engaging, and filled with discovery. Many of them face daily challenges with reading and comprehension, and it has not always been easy for them to feel confident as readers.\r\n\r\nThe new books provided through this project are making reading exciting and accessible. Graphic novels and other high-interest stories capture my students' attention with humor, adventure, and imagination. As they read, they build comprehension skills, strengthen vocabulary, and engage in meaningful conversations about characters and ideas. Most importantly, they are beginning to see themselves as capable readers who can grow and succeed.\r\n\r\nThese materials are also expanding what I am able to accomplish as a teacher. With a richer classroom library, I can offer more choice and variety, match texts to individual reading levels, and plan lessons that encourage deeper understanding. I see students reading more often and with more enthusiasm. They are discussing stories with their peers, connecting what they read to their own lives, and showing increased confidence in their abilities.\r\n\r\nThis project is helping remove barriers to reading and is opening doors to new opportunities for my students. With engaging, accessible materials, they are building essential literacy skills, gaining confidence, and discovering the joy of reading—one story at a time.","fullyFundedDate":1757351548351,"projectUrl":"project/from-imagination-to-exploration-meanin/9461131/","projectTitle":"\"From Imagination to Exploration: Meaningful Learning Journeys\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Royce","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9525127"},{"teacherId":9525127,"projectId":9501453,"letterContent":"My students are bright, enthusiastic learners who face a range of challenges that impact their ability to focus and feel calm in the classroom. Many of them have learning disabilities, ADHD, autism, or sensory processing difficulties.\r\n\r\nEven though they try their best every day, the traditional classroom setting can sometimes feel overwhelming.\r\nThat's why small tools like fidgets can make such a big difference, giving their hands something to do while their brains focus on learning.\r\n\r\nFidget tools help students regulate emotions, increase attention, and reduce anxiety. When used properly, these supports improve classroom participation, task completion, and confidence. For many of my students, being able to fidget quietly means being able to learn.\r\n\r\nWith your generous support, I will create a calming, inclusive environment where each student has the tools they need to thrive, especially during independent work, testing, and transitions.\r\n\r\nYour donation will help remove a major barrier to learning: the struggle to stay regulated and focused in a fast-paced classroom environment.
