Thank you for believing in my students and for funding this project. Your kindness has already made a meaningful difference in their daily lives.\r\n\r\nMany of the students I teach come from economically disadvantaged households. For some of them, basic necessities like warm winter clothing and consistent snacks are not always guaranteed. While school should always be a place focused on learning, it often becomes much more than that for our students — it becomes a place of stability, care, and support. When children arrive at school hungry or inadequately dressed for the weather, it impacts far more than their comfort. It affects their ability to focus, engage, and fully participate in learning.\r\n\r\nHere in Pennsylvania, winter can be especially unforgiving. At the time of receiving your donations, we were heading into nearly three consecutive weeks of severe cold, including multiple days with temperatures in the single digits and even below zero. On mornings like those, some of my students walk into school wearing thin jackets, no gloves, and no hats. Others come to school already cold, uncomfortable, and distracted before the first lesson even begins. In situations like this, it often falls on the school — and more specifically, the classroom teacher — to help fill in the gaps and ensure students have what they need to be ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, we are able to do exactly that.\r\n\r\nThe hats, gloves, and scarves from this project are truly working overtime. They have already been used to help students warm up when they arrive in the morning and when lining up to go home at the end of the day. Something as simple as a warm pair of gloves or a cozy hat can completely change a child's experience at school. Instead of worrying about numb fingers or the biting cold, students can focus on being kids — learning, playing, and growing.\r\n\r\nThe snacks you provided have been just as impactful. Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to learning, especially for young students. When a child's stomach is empty, it becomes nearly impossible to concentrate, regulate emotions, or stay engaged in lessons. Having readily available snacks allows me to quietly and respectfully support students who need it, without drawing attention or causing embarrassment. These snacks help fill bellies, boost energy, and create an environment where students can focus on reading, writing, math, and building confidence in themselves as learners.\r\n\r\nYour donations have done more than provide physical items — they have sent a powerful message to my students that they are seen, valued, and cared for. They know that there are people beyond their classroom and their community who believe they deserve comfort, warmth, and the opportunity to learn without unnecessary obstacles.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful for your generosity and willingness to support my classroom. Your kindness has eased stress for my students, allowed me to better meet their needs, and made our classroom a more equitable and compassionate place. Thank you for being part of our story and for making such a meaningful impact on the lives of my students.
