Every student has a pencil pouch and students are learning to be responsible with their materials. The crayon/ pencil case help keep the crayons in one place. No more pencils and crayons on the ground everything has a place where it is stored. Additionally, the plastic storage bins hold small items that tend to fall on the ground or get lost easily. Students help maintain our classroom organized by putting things away in their corresponding bin. \r\nThe magnetic hooks help hold papers on the white board and double as a creative tool with the marble run. The S.T.E.M. cards have added a fun and challenging way for students to think outside of the box. The Mr. Sketch Scented markers are used for anchor charts. They also, inspire students to add sensory details like smell or taste to their writing, because the scents remind them of food. \r\n\r\nI am very happy to say that the most popular materials have been the books! \r\nRocas y minerales, I Can Do Hard Things bilingual book, La Tristeza de Santiago, Soy más fuerte que la ira, Enseña a tu Dragón a Hacer Amigos, El Ninja de and Mentalidad de Crecimiento. I have read these to students to promote a positive and safe learning environment. Additionally, the books are housed in our calm corner. Students really enjoyed the Ninja and the Dragon books and liked that they were part of a series and want to read more of them! When students finish their in class work they can choose to read their books and they like to discover new books and ask for recommendation's. They even look for the same book at the library, so they can read it more times, if a peer has already taken it from our classroom library. Additionally, the books have served as a tool to help students self regulate, and have a safe space of their own. The students loved the Lego kits they are very popular. The colorful Magnetic Dry Erase Labels were used to make partner and student groups. These allow me to easily change their groups and students can have a visual reminder. The colored masking tape was used to tape down student name tags on their desk and also group students by color. I have two classes and the reusable dry erase pocket sleeves has allowed me to print less papers and have a class set for both classes. \r\nThe Mr. Sketch colorful markers have allowed me to make anchor charts and students are excited to help me make the anchor charts. The magnetic anchor chart holder has been very helpful and allows me to display our learning. The magnetic push pins are used to display papers on the board. In our calm down corner they are used to hold up posters. They also hold our hallway passes. The most used material has been the Velcro Brand dots because they keep our classroom library labeled and organized. \r\n\r\nThank you for helping me make students learning fun, and engaging. The red folders are being used as take-home folders, helping students stay organized and giving them a consistent way to bring work and notes between school and home. The composition books are being used for writing, and we've also begun incorporating STEM into our writing time. Since writing can be challenging for many of my students, we use one side of the book for writing and the other for drawing to support comprehension and creativity.\r\n\r\nThe class set of binders is being used for student data tracking. Each student has their own binder where they can record their goals, monitor their progress, and reflect on their learning. This process is helping students take more ownership of their academic journey and understand how their efforts lead to improvement.\r\n\r\nNext, we plan to continue strengthening our writing skills and expanding our integration of STEM into literacy. The binders will also be a key part of our weekly reflection and goal-setting routine, helping students see their growth and feel motivated to keep moving forward.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us build a stronger, more organized, and more empowering classroom environment!","fullyFundedDate":1746785449160,"projectUrl":"project/big-dreams-start-on-these-little-pages/9291452/","projectTitle":"Big Dreams Start on These Little Pages!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mendez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8790474_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x389,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751868948508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jmendez2"},{"teacherId":3786199,"projectId":8673235,"letterContent":"I just want to say a huge thank you for the headphones! It has especially helped our students improve their cursive writing skills, which is a big win for many of our learners, including those with dyslexia. The ability to use apps that offer guided tracing and visual feedback has made handwriting more engaging and accessible for them.\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting features for my students has been using the Novel Effect app during read-alouds. This technology adds music and sound effects that respond to my voice, bringing stories to life in a magical way. It's made our reading time something students look forward to with great excitement.\r\n\r\nI've also benefited tremendously as a teacher—this iPad has helped me stay organized with my digital planner and keep meeting notes all in one place. Everything I need is now easily accessible, which allows me to focus more on teaching and less on managing papers.\r\n\r\nStudents love using the iPad. While we take turns to make sure everyone gets a chance, their eagerness to engage with the technology is amazing to see. Some students who were previously more reserved have really come out of their shells, showing great enthusiasm when they get their turn with the device.\r\n\r\nOnce again, thank you for helping bring this technology into our classroom. It's more than just a tool—it's become a source of inspiration, support, and joy for both me and my students.","fullyFundedDate":1742522226172,"projectUrl":"project/tech-tools-for-today-success-stories-fo/9177686/","projectTitle":"Tech Tools for Today, Success Stories for Tomorrow!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Mendez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8790474_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x389,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1751868948508","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jmendez2"},{"teacherId":4938779,"projectId":8461877,"letterContent":"First and foremost, thank you. Thank you for the support you have given my class with these books. These books have provided and opened new doors for my students by introducing them to new genres of literature. \r\n\r\nThe variety of genres is so diverse that most students had a favorite book—or even more than one. When a student reads a book from a genre they haven't explored before, it opens the door for them to continue discovering other books in the same genre. For example, Gloria read \"The Curse Moon\" and realized that she really enjoys mystery and slightly spooky books. Now, she has already asked me to have more of these books available in my classroom. Leonel and Brandon discovered that they like poetry after reading \"Odder\" and \"Yuck, You Suck\". Now, when Brandon goes to the school library, he looks for poetry books, and during his free time, he writes poems. \r\n\r\nIn my classroom, students have the opportunity to read independently for 20 to 30 minutes every day. They have the freedom to choose any book they want to read. My job as a teacher is to offer them and have a variety of books within their reach so they can choose. Nowadays, with technology at their fingertips, it is harder for students to take an interest in physical books. However, as an educator, my job is to provide them with the experience of reading quality books from different genres. The books that were donated help me achieve my goal as a teacher and allow me to continue having the right tools so that my students grow up with a love for reading.","fullyFundedDate":1723224892311,"projectUrl":"project/building-futures-through-reading/8461877/","projectTitle":"Building Futures Through Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Esquivel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4938779"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_14749","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":585,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":66,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":71.8,"schoolId":14749,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Alice Moore Alexander Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Alice Moore Alexander Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/denton-independent-school-district/lee-elementary-school/14749"}
