They feel motivated and excited to read books in Spanish, and many are eager to explore new reading options. As a bilingual school, providing high-quality literature in Spanish strengthens literacy development and helps expand our students' vocabulary in meaningful and authentic ways.\r\n\r\nThese new texts support important reading skills such as phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. They also allow students to practice making predictions, identifying main ideas and details, and discussing characters, settings, and key events. These help students build confidence and develop stronger reading habits.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially enjoyed the new books because they feel represented and connected to the Spanish language. For bilingual learners, reading in Spanish increases confidence and supports language growth.
