We are having to be creative in encouraging students to get out of their comfort zone and in my Computer classes, I do this by motivating them to stand up in front of their classmates and give the presentations they created on various topics in Canva. I did not tell my middle school students this up front, but I used the suckers you contributed to as a reward when they made eye contact with their audience and didn't just stand up there and read the SmartBoard word for word. I educated them before hand on why they want to make this eye contact, but only rewarded students who did just this. This is the starting point into becoming comfortable talking and presenting in front of others. Thank you for your contribution to reward them with a little sweet treat for putting in the effort.","fullyFundedDate":1760039261849,"projectUrl":"project/getting-students-out-of-their-comfort-zo/9576513/","projectTitle":"Getting Students Out of Their Comfort Zone!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Shannon Ellenberger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4584247_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759353415575","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4584247"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_43253","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":275,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":67,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":66.7,"schoolId":43253,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Lamar Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Lamar Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/colorado/lamar-school-district-re-2/lamar-middle-school/43253"}
