We fast-tracked the processing of the books so that students could begin reading the books before the last school year ended.\r\n\r\nNow we have them featured on our display shelves for new books and they are in high demand. Students are asking their classmates if they will let them know when their books have been returned so they can have a turn. Some students have been hugging their books in happy disbelief that we now have the exact titles they were hoping to find.\r\n\r\nThe books we received really cover a lot of bases! From cookbooks to BMX books to scary titles to humorous picture books to space series and graphic novels! Teachers are also checking the books out to explore with their classes.\r\n\r\nI ran some library reports this week and our collection is looking better than ever! The joke books are truly hilarious and the activity books are helping students buddy up to search for hidden objects or animals. The ASL books offer another option for students to develop a skill quietly. \r\n\r\nThe Kid Astronomer book is especially fitting for our school since we are ASTROS!\r\n\r\nWe opened the Storymatic Writing Prompts box right away and grades 4-6 created some amazing stories and mini books to share with their peers!\r\n\r\nVariety is the spice of life and this particular misfit collection has been just the right fit for our dynamic school library's patrons! The interactive reading and phonics games provided through your support have made learning not only more engaging but also more effective for each child in my classroom.\r\n\r\nBefore these games, many students struggled to make connections between sounds and letters, and their confidence in reading was low. However, through the hands-on, game-based learning, students have been able to practice phonics in a fun, stress-free environment, which has helped them internalize important concepts much faster. The games catered to different learning styles, allowing both visual and auditory learners to thrive.\r\n\r\nThe best part is how excited the students were to play the new games! They eagerly completed their work in our small groups just so they could dive into the games and continue learning in such a fun way. They were motivated by the opportunity to interact with these educational tools. The games make learning feel like an exciting challenge rather than a task.\r\n\r\nStudents are gaining not only foundational reading skills but also a newfound love for learning. They now approach reading with enthusiasm, and I have seen a noticeable improvement in their fluency and ability to decode unfamiliar words. \r\n\r\nThe impact of these resources goes beyond academic growth; it is positively influencing their self-esteem. Students who were once reluctant readers are now actively participating in group reading sessions and feel more confident in their abilities.\r\n\r\nYour contribution has truly made a difference. It has helped build a foundation for future success in literacy. Thank you for empowering my students to become confident, lifelong readers.","fullyFundedDate":1739754489970,"projectUrl":"project/games-to-create-a-love-of-reading/9116800/","projectTitle":"Games to Create a Love of Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pollock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3960645_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728008274187","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3960645"},{"teacherId":9783022,"projectId":8837121,"letterContent":"Thank you again so, so much for contributing to my project!
