Students use these Chromebooks to take assessments, work on projects, sharpen math skills through games, and practice keyboarding skills. However, district does not provide headphones.\r\nIn the past, I have included wired headphones on my supply list for parents to donate. While some parents are able to provide them, not all parents can. Other times, the headphones are not the best quality and eventually end up breaking. For these reasons, I decided to write my donors choose project. \r\nOur headphones and door organizer arrived quickly and students were able to start using them immediately. I assigned headphones to each student and they have used them daily. When not in use, the door hanger storage is perfect-they are safely stored and accounted for.\r\nThank you again for donating to my project. It has positively impacted my students and their families.","fullyFundedDate":1751989749031,"projectUrl":"project/put-your-headphones-on/9329250/","projectTitle":"Put Your Headphones On","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valentine","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8359398_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720617838157","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8359398"},{"teacherId":564535,"projectId":9075519,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, our team has launched an exciting new initiative called the Book Pharmacy — a project designed to strengthen the home-school connection and give students the extra practice they need to become confident, capable readers. Every student who receives reading intervention will be \"prescribed\" a decodable book that matches the exact phonics skill they worked on that day. With over 50 students participating, this project has the power to significantly boost reading outcomes through consistent, targeted reinforcement at home.\r\n\r\nWe know that learning to read takes more than just classroom time — it takes daily practice and family partnership. That's why each book is sent home in a special book bag, along with a parent contract and reading log where families can note successes, challenges, and questions. This not only gives students a double dose of practice, but also helps parents learn how to support their children in meaningful ways. Though we're just beginning, we believe this project will be a game-changer — opening the door for increased growth, greater confidence, and stronger collaboration between school and home.","fullyFundedDate":1741036548731,"projectUrl":"project/filling-literacy-prescriptions-building/9075519/","projectTitle":"Filling Literacy Prescriptions: Building Skills at Home","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cook","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrshollyc"},{"teacherId":5925307,"projectId":6273390,"letterContent":"I am incredibly grateful for your generosity in fully funding our project. Your contribution has allowed me to bring flexible and supportive seating options to my 3rd-grade classroom, just as I did in my previous 1st-grade classroom.\r\n\r\nIn 2018, when I first introduced flexible seating in my classroom, I witnessed remarkable improvements in student engagement and focus. Giving my students the ability to choose where they sat, as well as providing them with seating that allowed them to move while learning, made a noticeable difference in their ability to stay focused and actively participate. Now, as I transition to 3rd grade, I am excited to bring this same approach to my new students, though I faced the challenge of not being able to use some of my previous seating options due to the size of the students. Thanks to your support, we are now able to provide the appropriate-sized seating options that will meet their needs.\r\n\r\nFor many of my students, staying still in a traditional chair and desk setup is a real challenge. They are bright, energetic learners who thrive when given the opportunity to move and choose where they sit. Your contribution allows us to offer them seating choices that help them steady their bodies, focus their minds, and succeed in their academic journey. Having the ability to make choices in their seating provides them with a sense of control and independence, which greatly motivates them to stay engaged.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this project a reality. Your support is truly making a difference in the lives of my students, and we all appreciate it more than words can express.","fullyFundedDate":1647201500793,"projectUrl":"project/movement-opportunities-to-engage-brillia/6273390/","projectTitle":"Movement Opportunities to Engage Brilliant Minds - Part 2","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jensen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5925307_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1543609750778","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/incredibleinfirst"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_68565","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":426,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":28,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":34,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":76.6,"schoolId":68565,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Kyrene De La Estrella Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Kyrene De La Estrella Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/kyrene-school-district/kyrene-de-la-elementary-schooltrella-elementary-school/68565"}
