When my students saw what you had given us, they cheered! The teardrop beanbags provide comforting seating for students needing quiet time and emotional support conversations. Many of my students come to school hungry each day; the snacks you offered have helped them feel nourished, especially on test days when they need additional nourishment. \r\nWhen snack time is over, it's handy to have the carpet sweeper you gave us. To help calm students as they test and learn--especially for those needing support due to conditions like ADHD--the squishy sensory toys, fidget toys, and bendables have been invaluable. As a reward for their excellent test scores, I presented the mini erasers, and was pleased to give each student a mini pop keychain as an end-of-semester celebration token. For each successful test or paper, I'm passing them back with a reward sticker for positive reinforcement. \r\nIn addition, I'm able to create helpful classroom visual learning aids for learning with the sharpie markers, post-it sheets, and index cards. Last but not least, the staplers, hole punches, and pens help me keep organized and efficient. The students could hardly wait to open the boxes and explore the bright bazooka goals, colorful scoop balls, and flag football sets. As soon as we set everything up, the laughter and teamwork began. From soccer drills and flag football games to \"sharks and minnows\" and scoop ball challenges, my first graders have been learning through play—building their coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship each week. For many of my students, this was their very first time playing with real sports equipment, and seeing their pride and joy in mastering new skills has been incredible.\r\nEvery Friday, these activities have become something the whole class looks forward to. They know that after a week of hard work—reading daily and completing their Accelerated Reader quizzes—they get to enjoy our \"Play to Learn\" time outdoors. The new equipment has made it easier for me to align our fun with our physical education standards while giving students a chance to move, collaborate, and breathe fresh island air. The books were gratefully received by the teachers as funding here is very tight. Teachers have been using the books as staples to re-read over and over again. This supports student engagement in reading circle time. Having a story students are familiar with allows them to more fully participate in a dual conversations where language becomes more of a two way experience than just the teacher telling the story. \r\n Students have been more actively participating in the story and are able to generate more language related to the story as they are familiar with the characters, plot, problems, and solutions. Students are able to chime in to familiar parts of the story.
