Your support has provided us with the hands-on materials necessary to move beyond theoretical concepts and engage in authentic, creative building challenges.\r\n\r\nAs soon as the materials arrived, the room was filled with excitement, curiosity, and energy. The materials to create buildings and blueprints signaled to my students that this wasn't just another 'boring' project - it was a serious, hands-on architectural endeavor. One student remarked, \"This is like real architect stuff. We get to build a real model/blueprint?\" This instantly elevated the perceived value of the project and their role in it. The materials have fostered a new level of respect for this industry, as the students quickly realized that precision and careful handling are necessary for success.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only provided materials but has also gifted our students with the opportunity to see themselves as designers, engineers, and problem-solvers. Overall, it has enhanced their learning experience. \r\n\r\nIn addition, the students love to use the microphones in class to project their voices and to play the role as a teacher to teach their peers what they have learned which gives them a sense of ownership and leadership skills. I wanted to take a moment to thank you deeply for your generous donation of tracing pads and animation flip book paper to our classroom. Your kindness brought such excitement and creativity to our students and truly made a difference!\r\n\r\nAs soon as the materials arrived, the room filled with curiosity and energy. The tracing pads were passed around like by students in awe, and the flip book paper sparked immediate ideas from our young artists and storytellers. Many had never seen an animation flip book before, and their eyes lit up as they realized they could bring their drawings to life—one frame at a time.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable project was our \"Intro to Flipbook\" assignment. Students were given the opportunity to choose any topic to complete a flipbook and used the tracing pads to plan each step of movement carefully. Then, using the flip book paper, they animated their scenes. The room filled with laughter, amazement, and that quiet focus that only comes from kids who are truly engaged in what they're doing. One student proudly flipped through her book of a caterpillar turning into a butterfly and said, \"I feel like a real animator!\"\r\n\r\nNow that they've had hands-on experience with how animation works, our next step is diving into short digital animation projects. The flipbooks gave them a great foundation for thinking about movement, timing, and storytelling.","fullyFundedDate":1742997373564,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-stories-to-life-a-gift-of-anim/9183551/","projectTitle":"Bringing Stories to Life: A Gift of Animation","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kaulser","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9971537"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9032","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1399,"numTeachers":76,"percentFrplEligible":31,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"18.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":80.6,"schoolId":9032,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Knox Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Knox Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/conroe-independent-school-district/knox-junior-high-school/9032"}
