Your donations of 3D filament has made my classroom a more engaging place. Using your donation, I have been able to create a multitude of reading guides, bookmarks and reading goal incentives to motivate my students to participate in class, self-regulate and foster their growth in their own learning.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, I was able to motivate multiple students in achieving their reading goals throughout the year. For some students this motivated them to growing their reading levels to up to a 1.5 years of growth on their STAR reading assessment. Your gift has also allowed me to create tools for students with disabilities to assist in their writing through the creation of writing guides and assistive pencil grips.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for your generosity and trust. Although my skills using a 3d printer still has room to grow, I look forward continue learning new ways to optimally use the filament provided and to continue to use it for the benefit of my students. Together, we are building something lasting that touches lives in a powerful way for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1742582778986,"projectUrl":"project/fueling-literacyone-filament-at-a-time/9138951/","projectTitle":"\"Fueling Literacy—One Filament at a Time.\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Paredes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9934579"},{"teacherId":1430287,"projectId":9172924,"letterContent":"In our school, students have dedicated time for independent choice reading, called Reading for Liberation (RFL). At times, it can can be hard for teachers to engage some of our more reluctant readers during RFL. This is because some readers struggle to find books they are interested in that are at a reading level appropriate for them. When readers are not engaged during RFL, they are missing a critical opportunity to cement their comprehension skills, expand their background knowledge, deepen their vocabulary, and fall in love with literacy.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, we have an amazing solution for these readers. The Scholastic magazines are highly engaging and the variety of topics means that all readers can find something they are interested in. The different editions cater to different reading levels, making the magazines accessible for all students. Although we have only been in school for a couple of weeks, we have already started to establish a strong reading culture across the entire campus thanks to this supplemental resource. On behalf of our entire staff, we thank you for your support!
