The sensory toys have become an important way to help students regulate emotions and stay engaged during group. One student even commented, \"This makes group feel like a place I want to come to!\" The treats, like Jolly Ranchers and Starbursts, have also been a simple but powerful motivator that helps students feel rewarded and appreciated. These resources not only encourage participation but also give my students something they can take home to continue building on the skills we practice together.\r\n\r\nAlready, the new materials are helping groups run more smoothly and giving students positive outlets for focus and creativity. The bulletin bar strips and magnets are being used to display group expectations and reminders, while the colorful sticky notes allow students to write down strategies or affirmations they can keep with them throughout the day. Moving forward, my students will be using these resources in upcoming lessons on communication, self-advocacy, and healthy coping strategies.
