It's the ultimate playground for my students to unleash their inner problem-solving ninjas and creativity wizards, sparking inspiration to become tomorrow's trailblazers.\r\nThe 3D printers are on a double mission:\r\nFor our 2nd to 6th-grade crew (all 574 of them!), these magical machines turn digital dreams into real-life creations, making abstract ideas as clear as a bell. Plus, they get to flaunt their masterpieces at the school art show during the dazzling STEAM night! The students have gotten into the aspects of engineering from houses to jewelry. The machines run throughout the day.\r\nFor the freshly minted STEAM club for third graders, the printers are their trusty sidekicks in crafting and selling cool items to get funds for supplies and filament. STEAM club learned math for running their business and how to maintain them.\r\nWhipping up 3D models is like throwing an epic party where geometry, measurement, art design, and brainstorming all dance together! Students get to morph their digital doodles into real-life, hold-in-your-hand creations. \r\nMany of my students have even started asking parents and saving up to get their own. One student has mentioned wanting to own a machine for 3d printing and design houses.","fullyFundedDate":1737463937677,"projectUrl":"project/grants-for-great-ideas-khe-3d-steam/9064496/","projectTitle":"Grants for Great Ideas KHE 3D STEAM","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ochoa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5310821_orig.png?crop=271,271,x62,y39&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736981752318","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5310821"},{"teacherId":1923961,"projectId":7978667,"letterContent":"Happy students, happy teacher!\r\nWhen my students learned that they were getting some drums to be able to play in the music classroom they were ecstatic to say the least. They enjoyed it so much when we were able to borrow some drums prior to your donation from another school for a week that they wanted some for our classroom, and that is when I went to work on the grant. The students' faces when they saw the drums when they arrived, were priceless. Their eyes grew so large and they asked \"are those our drums?\" I was so happy to be able to tell them that yes, these are our school's drums now to keep and use in music. The students shouted, \"yay!\" \r\nWe have used them in countless lessons now to learn about the steady beat, rhythm, proper drum technique, sound, the science of sound and vibrations, the history of where drums come from and the culture. They also have learned how to make different sounds on different parts of the drums high and low, and how many different types of drums there are, the family of instruments they belong to, and the unique sounds they make to name a few. Students have greatly enjoyed using them by playing music games like \"Let us Chase the Squirrel\" where students play the steady beat while the other students are singing the song and then a student/squirrel is chased around the tree. The one who gets back to the spot first gets the next turn at the drum. The game has been a huge hit with all age and grade levels but including the drums has made this an unforgettable activity that the students beg for us to do again and again. \r\nWhen we found out that people were donating and that our project had been funded we felt like people actually care about music in our schools, and our specific classroom and students. To know that strangers who we've never met would donate to help out our music class was beyond all we had imagined. You are honorary KHE Little Indians now thanks to your support!
