We discussed the narrator of the story as the narrator shared his father, Elmer's story and was retelling what happened to the father. Each Friday, we sit in a circle and one by one, the students share their drawing and explain a little about what was drawn. Students feel pride in what they drew, but also get a chance to learn about their peers. For example, after listening to all students (and their teacher), share what distracts, we can then use this knowledge throughout the school day.
