Because of you, my students are already using the new resources in meaningful ways. The shelving has helped us organize our instruments so students can independently set up and clean up, giving us more time to make music together. We have begun using the recorder books during small-group practice, and students are also enjoying music-themed read-alouds that spark discussion, imagination, and connections between music and storytelling.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' excitement was immediate. They were thrilled to see the boomwhackers and recorder materials ready for use, and many were especially curious about the ukulele books. Students loved flipping through the pages and asking when they would get to start learning new chords and songs. The books created an instant sense of anticipation and motivation to learn.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, students will continue developing music-reading and ensemble skills through recorder units and boomwhacker activities, while preparing to explore ukulele in future lessons. The read-alouds will support lessons on composers, musical elements, and self-expression, and the professional books are already helping me strengthen my teaching so I can better meet the needs of all learners. Through these texts, students are learning to think more deeply about characters' motivations, messages within a story, and the choices authors make to engage their readers.\r\n\r\nReading is an important part of our classroom routine and takes place throughout the day. Each morning, students spend 45 minutes reading either in small groups with a teacher or in student-led small groups where they guide their own discussions. In the afternoon, reading instruction continues with a focus on Grade 5–level texts and skills. The new books have fit seamlessly into both parts of our literacy block and have enhanced the quality of our discussions and instruction.\r\n\r\nAll students, across every reading level, are enjoying the new books and feeling included as readers. One group in particular has especially enjoyed reading Front Desk. Their excitement for the book has even encouraged them to seek out and read the rest of the series from our school library, helping to build both confidence and a genuine love for reading.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our students and supporting their growth as readers. I asked for two items that I felt were essential to creating a more constructive classroom. With the level of technology used in society, it has become increasingly more important to keep up in order to sustain student engagement. Your donations have helped me to capture their attention and I am excited to continue using your generous gift.\r\n\r\nMy first item was a speaker system for my projector. With so much information being pushed out through technology, it has been a struggle for my students to just hear the information from educational videos and my personal instruction. The students are much more engaged because now they can hear the information clearly and in an appropriate volume. \r\n\r\nThe second item was earbuds. Continuing with the technology theme, all students are provided school Chromebooks, however, there are many students who are not able to purchase their own headsets or earbuds. With your donation, I will be able to supply students with earbuds which will reduce distractions and embarrassment.\r\n\r\nYour donations have improved the quality of learning in my classroom and I am grateful for your support. When my students first saw the materials that I received they were very eager to know what was in all the boxes and if it was for them to use and keep. We were able to use majority of the materials that were given and they love it so far. We used the giant ten frames during our math lesson that covered the standard of understanding the relationship between numbers and quantities. They loved the math activity when using the giant ten frame because it is very interactive. Them being a part of the learning is always a fun way to learn and understand the lesson. We will continue to use the giant ten frame when learning addition and subtraction towards the end of the school year. I have also used the classroom prizes every Friday to reward them based on their behaviors throughout the week. The students need more motivation to make better choices throughout the week and I thought using a rewards system would work. So far it has been going okay, they look forward to getting something at the end of the week. I will continue to use the reward system in place and see if my students are able to eventually make smarter and better choices without any reminders from me. My 13 amazing first graders—my \"smart cookies\"—were absolutely thrilled as we unpacked each item you . In our Title I school community, many students face daily challenges, yet they walk into class each morning full of curiosity, excitement, and determination. Your generosity helps make our classroom a place where that joy can flourish.\r\n\r\nThanks to you, our class library is now growing in the most wonderful way. All the storybooks you helped fund have quickly become favorites during read-alouds and independent reading time. My students love gathering on the carpet to listen, laugh, wonder, and make connections to characters who look like them, think like them, and dream like them. These books are already nurturing stronger readers and encouraging every child to see themselves as confident, caring, capable learners.\r\n\r\nThe classroom organization supplies have made a huge difference in helping our day run smoothly. Our new mailbox system has given students a sense of responsibility and independence, and our electric pencil sharpener saves us time so we can spend more time learning. The earbuds allow students to engage fully during digital learning without distraction—something we desperately needed.\r\n\r\nYou also helped ensure that our students have what every child deserves: a classroom that feels warm, safe, and joyful. Celebration and holiday materials will help us build special memories throughout the year, and the snacks you funded make sure every child has the energy they need to learn, focus, and enjoy school. For some of my students, this small boost of fuel makes a big impact on their day.\r\n\r\nYou've given my students not just supplies, but the message that they matter—and that people believe and care about them.
