The arrival of our new classroom resources has sparked a wave of excitement and connection. It is truly heartening to see the direct impact your kindness has on my students' learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe games have become a highlight in the classroom. More than just \"fun,\" these activities are helping my students build essential social-emotional skills and stronger peer relationships. Guess the Gibberish: This has become a fast favorite! It's amazing to watch them collaborate and think critically to decode the phrases. Meme Captions: My students are having a blast letting their creativity shine by adding captions to memes. It's a fantastic way for them to practice perspective-taking and humor in a way that feels relevant to them.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe addition of the toys and fidgets has been a total game-changer for our classroom management. I've been using them as prizes and rewards, and the students are highly motivated by them! Having these positive incentives has boosted morale and encouraged everyone to stay on task, as they all love earning a new fidget to keep their hands busy while they work.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the new headphones provide much-needed stability. Many of our older sets were beginning to fail, which often caused frustration. These new, reliable headphones allow students to focus on their personalized digital lessons without technical hiccups, ensuring that every minute of learning counts.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom and for believing in the potential of my students. Because of donors like you, my students are fortunate. \r\n\r\nThe biggest impact has been the tennis balls for the chairs. Prior to the donation, the class would constantly hear the sound of the chairs rubbing against the tile. It made it harder to focus and listen during instruction whenever a student got out of their seat. Now when the students get out of their chairs, it's much quieter. \r\n\r\nWe completed our unit on energy and the students enjoyed building circuits to light up a.light bulb and connecting the switch to turn their circuit on and off. This hands on approach helped many of my students to do well on their science assessment. \r\nThe Wonder books are still being used as enrichment for about half the class during our intervention block. They are enjoying the book and making connections with what they've read. \r\n\r\nI read aloud some of the other books purchased to connect to our SEL curriculum, Choose Love. Through the story, the class is learning more about courage and forgiveness. We will also use the books to focus on empathy and compassoin in action. \r\n\r\nThe class was eager to receive the blank books and select from a variety of prizes including the squishy toy and erasers. When students are finished early with an assignment, one option is to draw in their blank books. I call it a sketch book. I post drawing videos on Google Classroom and they follow along to create their own drawings. At the end of the year they will be able to take it home and keep it as a memory. For the toy prizes, each week, the students have the opportunity to earn points by being responsible, taking initiative, helping out others, etc. At the end of the week, those who earned at least 5 points, get their name put onto a wheel and then I randomly pull names to select a prize. \r\n\r\nYour generosity has made a positive impact on my students. It is amazing how much of a difference the right organizational tools can make in our class. Our new student mailbox system, the rainbow storage baskets, the calming corner supplies, and our new storage cart has turned our room into a much more peaceful and productive place to learn.\r\n\r\nOur new mailbox system has been amazing for our daily routine. In second grade, learning to stay organized is a big milestone, and the students feel so grown-up and proud when they check their mailbox for their corrected work and notes to take home. It has saved us so much transition time. The rainbow baskets have also brought so much joy and color to our room. Having these reading buddies nearby during reading time or when a student needs a moment in our calm-down corner has helped my students manage their feelings and stay focused on their goals.\r\n\r\nThe new storage cart has helped me keep all our hands-on learning materials right at our fingertips. It is amazing to see how much longer they can focus on a book or a test when they are comfortable and have more room to move around.\r\n\r\nThe best part of this project has been watching my students learn to make choices for themselves.
