First graders respond and interact positively to the ease of use and simplicity provided by Ipads and they are such a wonderful teaching tool.\r\n\r\nWith these resources, our students can engage more deeply, think more critically, and develop skills that will serve them well into the future. It's inspiring to see their excitement when they use these materials, and it's all possible because of your support. \r\n\r\nYour kindness is helping us create a learning environment where every student feels empowered to succeed. The strawberry seeds, papaya seeds, planting pots, soil, and watering cans you provided have become a daily part of our science work. It was also and a big source of excitement for my second graders.\r\n\r\nThe very first day the materials arrived, the students' reactions were priceless. Many of them gasped when they saw the strawberry seeds, they asked if they would really grow fruit in our class. Others were fascinated by the tiny papaya seeds and couldn't believe that something so small could grow into a tree that produces food. Several students immediately asked, \"Can we start planting today?\" Their excitement filled the room.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the materials during our plant-life-cycle unit, where students created their own hypotheses, observation journals, and data-collection charts. One of our favorite classroom moments was when students were able to transplant their seedlings into the pots you provided. They worked carefully in pairs, reminding each other how much soil to use and how to gently pat it down. It was amazing to watch them take ownership of the process. They were proud, focused, and genuinely invested in their plants' success.\r\n\r\nYour donation hasn't just given us supplies; it has given my students a sense of responsibility and a real understanding of how food is grown. Many of them made personal connections, sharing stories about cooking at home, families who grow food, or wanting to help provide fruits and vegetables for their families during tough times.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are exciting! Students will continue monitoring their strawberry plants and papaya seedlings, measuring growth, recording changes, and comparing what they observe to their original hypotheses. Soon, we'll begin lessons on plant needs, pollination, and how plants help communities. We are publishing their plant journal using their observations and data too with Studentreasures.\r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting our classroom. Your gift has brought real joy, curiosity, and hands-on learning to our students. Because of you, they are discovering that they can grow food, care for living things, and make a difference in their homes and community.","fullyFundedDate":1762548690720,"projectUrl":"project/kaewai-keiki-growing-aloha-together/9720617/","projectTitle":"Kaʻewai Keiki Growing Aloha Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kaopuiki","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8825690_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667438027156","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8825690"},{"teacherId":3197235,"projectId":9780955,"letterContent":"The students have enjoyed using the new P.E./recess equipment and health models! They keep our station rotations running smoothly by organizing each student's task boxes. When the students first saw the neatly organized cases, they were excited and immediately understood what materials belonged to each station.\r\nOur next steps are to continue using these tools to build independence during math and literacy stations.
