With the launch of Georgia's new ELA standards, this novel became one of our approved anchor texts; however, it was not provided to classrooms. I knew immediately that Bradbury's writing would engage my students and meet them right where they are as readers. Thanks to you, each student has been able to hold their own copy, read at their own pace, annotate during lessons, and use the novel as a resource for their independent reading logs and daily writing practice. Your support allowed us to build a truly standards-aligned unit on science fiction and social commentary, and the excitement it sparked in my classroom has been incredible.\r\n\r\nBehind the scenes, this project also had a journey of its own. Although it was funded some time ago, the original vendor could no longer supply the books. The DonorsChoose team worked tirelessly to locate another vendor, and together they gathered copies from multiple locations. This process did take several weeks in which books were mailed one by one. Thankfully, every book arrived, and my students received the complete set you made possible! Your selflessness and belief in our classroom made every hurdle worth it. These books have already contributed so much to my students' success this semester, and I am hopeful that they will continue to empower future classes for years to come. Thank you for investing in us, believing in the power of reading, and helping my students feel seen, supported, and inspired. Your donations have made a meaningful difference for my students, many of whom have terminal and physical disabilities.\r\n\r\nBecause of your kindness, I have been able to provide special Friday rewards that my students look forward to each week. These small celebrations have brought so much joy and motivation, especially during their final year of high school. It's something they truly cherish — a moment to smile and feel proud of their hard work.\r\n\r\nYour contributions also provided hundreds of plastic utensils, which have been incredibly helpful for one of my students who has a terminal illness and is too weak to use regular metal silverware. The plastic utensils allow him to eat more comfortably and maintain a sense of independence during meals. In addition, the mechanical pencils you funded have been a wonderful support for students with limited muscle strength, giving them the ability to write with ease and confidence.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the students' faces lit up with excitement and gratitude. They were touched that people they've never met cared enough to make their days brighter and their learning experience more accessible.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, my students are continuing to engage in their lessons with renewed motivation and comfort. As they prepare for graduation, your gifts have not only supported their education but also brought joy and dignity to their final year.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart — and on behalf of my incredible students — thank you for your compassion and generosity.","fullyFundedDate":1754330887834,"projectUrl":"project/the-final-push-one-last-year-of-strengt/9429518/","projectTitle":"The Final Push: One Last Year of Strength","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Megan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9080205_orig.jpg?crop=646,646,x55,y79&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1687373991298","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9080205"},{"teacherId":9690330,"projectId":8678089,"letterContent":"Your generous donation for equipment for our students helped tremendously with making the start to our school year smooth. Because of your support, I was able to purchase a full class set of headphones and vibrant printer paper—both of which are already making a meaningful impact on student learning. The headphones are being used regularly for our bi-annual literacy testing and for personalized, self-paced lessons that allow students to engage in both remediation and enrichment activities tailored to their needs. These tools are helping to create a more effective and focused learning environment for every student.\r\n\r\nThe colorful printer paper has also been a hit in the classroom! I use it to print out class notes, which not only helps students stay more organized but also adds a layer of visual interest that keeps them engaged. It's been amazing to see how something as simple as colorful notes can help students keep track of their materials and take more ownership of their learning. Your donations have directly supported our efforts to improve student achievement—because at the end of the day, that's the goal. Thank you for investing in our classroom and in the future of these students and the students thereafter.","fullyFundedDate":1733859443451,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-audio-studying-in-color/8612222/","projectTitle":"Learning With Audio; Studying in Color!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Edwards","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9111795"},{"teacherId":9080205,"projectId":8962873,"letterContent":"I am writing this letter with a heart full of gratitude and appreciation for your incredibly generous donation to my classroom. The dynamic seating has been a game changer for my students in speech therapy. We have started to give the students a choice of where they want to sit and the amount of logic, reasoning, and requesting these students now use is astronomical compared to previous sessions. So many of my students also have ADHD and being able to move around while speaking and processing language helps them so much. One student who may not always be motivated... has now enjoyed coming to speech if he gets to work on his sounds on a beanbag or on a wiggle stool. \r\n\r\nMy students were shocked when they first saw everything.
