The children have been busy using the felt board story books. They enjoy putting the felt board pieces on the board when retelling the story or song. Sometimes when we sing the song during transitions, the children take turns putting the pieces on the board that coordinate with the song. \r\nThe students were so excited to see the new items in our classroom. They enjoy using the items immediately and always love to explore new things. The new items are a nice change to the everyday manipulative's that they are used to. \r\nMy students love to paint and create, so the watercolors were a big hit with them. We read the story, \"The Dot\" and then they each had to make their own dot using water colors. The pictures came out great and the children were proud of their work.","fullyFundedDate":1735839374766,"projectUrl":"project/build-discover-and-play-in-preschool/8771795/","projectTitle":"Build, Discover, and Play In Preschool","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Vandervalk","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-vandervalk"},{"teacherId":7053497,"projectId":8586576,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for making this project possible for my fabulous preschoolers! We get so excited when the packages arrive and they cannot wait to see what and how we will be learning new things!\r\n The new play doh came at the best time. We are working on fine motor development to strengthen our finger muscles for writing our names, letters, numbers and drawings as many of us prepare to transition to Kindergarten. The students are enjoying the Doh rollers and cut outs while learning, sharing, talking and growing these fine motor muscles. Eye- hand coordination is so important for success! My students and I are enjoying them and use them during center time. The children love playing with the Lincoln logs. It is a great experience to watch them work together to build a house. It builds great interaction and strong relationships with each other. \r\n\r\nThey got so excited when they saw all the new musical instruments and the talking microscope. They couldn't' wait to use the microscope and look at the leaves we collected during our Tree Study. \r\n\r\nWe will be doing the Clothing Study next and the students are excited about the study.
