I have dabbled in all of them a little bit and I know they will enrich my teaching through the years. I teach English Language Learners in grades K-4 and, when the kids saw the Train of Thought games on my desk, their eyes perked up. Every day they asked me if we were going to play a game. \r\n\r\nI took the opportunity to learn how to use that game with a group of four 3rd grade boys. They needed some prep which included reviewing the names of animals as well as introducing them to some names for animal body parts, types of habitats and classifications of animals. They were very excited when they were ready to play the game after about 4 days of prep. \r\n\r\nI have also used a number of the write on/wipe off cards, especially those that involve writing. In addition, I have used the conversation cubes with 2nd, 3rd and 4th graders and can use them as a writing activity as well. I am looking forward to using the Guess Who Game. I think my first graders will especially enjoy it. \r\n\r\nUsing these materials has allowed me to get to know what my students can do in English, as I just started working as an English Language Learner teacher a short while ago. It will take me some time to learn what is appropriate for what age or ability level. These materials are providing me with good practice opportunities to figure it out. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for providing me with these materials that will allow me to spice things up a bit.","fullyFundedDate":1732227355717,"projectUrl":"project/esl-is-fun/8915413/","projectTitle":"ESL is Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Warshay","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9619505"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_83771","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":353,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":68,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":9,"percentWhite":59,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":84.2,"schoolId":83771,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John Muir Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John Muir Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/ohio/parma-city-school-district/john-muir-elementary-school/83771"}
