It was truly so exciting to see the headphones ordered, shipped and delivered to my students. We opened the boxes together and the delight on their faces was indescribable. Their little smiles were so big because someone cares about them and wants them to learn!\r\n\r\nThe majority of my students often do not bring in school supplies because of the financial burdens within their homes. While I do purchase the essentials of schools such as crayons, pencils, markers, and such, headphones for 24 students was a bit out of my price range. I did ask for parents to supply headphones for their child, since it was the only thing I did ask for them to purchase, but only 2 out of 24 students came in with them. \r\n\r\nWith your generous donation, they all have a brand new pair of headphones to complete their iReady lessons on their chrome books. They were so excited to plug them in and put them away. It was so exciting to see how careful they were with them. \r\nThank you again for your donation. My dual-language classes have devoured the books we bought. There are always many \"Diario del Wimpy Kid\" (\"Diary of a Wimpy Kid\") and \"Elefante y Cerdita\" (\"Elephant and Piggy\") books checked out from the library since adding them. Our Spanish section is much more popular now--I often have to remind my English speakers that the book they were excited to check out in their hand is in Spanish. \r\n\r\nOne of our fifth-grade, dual-language classes comes down each week and many of those students go directly to this section now. I based this fundraiser largely on the books they were requesting. We are expected to have students navigate assignments via google classroom in addition to receive academic supports through platforms that require the computer in addition to headphones with microphones. Unfortunately, these are not provided and the students I serve do not have the means to get their own and bring them in. \r\n\r\nYour providing each student with their own pair has really changed the ability for students to access their learning programs successfully. Students are more engaged in their learning, excited to log in and learn, and more importantly demonstrating increased success rates with these programs. The students, however, are most excited about the cool colors and the fact that the microphone is built into the cord! \r\n\r\nSeveral students have suggested to other classroom teachers that they should try and get the same headphones for their students. The thing I love most is that I will be looping with this group of students and these headphones will get to stay with them for next year's learning as well. The classroom is now filled with focused learners, each immersed in their own academic journey, and it's all thanks to your generosity.\r\n\r\nWith students coming from diverse backgrounds and having unique learning needs, these headphones have truly leveled the playing field.
