We had an amazing week packed with fun holiday-themed activities thanks to your incredible generosity. On the first day, we played \"Reindeer Games\", where students broke into teams and participated in various academic and non-academic actives where they earned points for their team, all while donning their new reindeer antlers. The next day, we painted picture frames to gift to their families using the paintbrushes provided in the project. The following day, we learned about Hanukkah and played the dreidel game- complete with the gold gelt coins. Later in the week, we created \"Human Christmas Trees\" by wrapping up a classmate in green crepe paper and decorating them with hand made construction paper ornaments. Finally, we wrapped up our celebration with some fun holiday themed glasses.\r\n All of these items made our celebration extra special. Being a first-year kindergarten teacher is challenging, especially when resources are scarce, making it difficult to deliver quality instruction. I requested some basic essentials for the classroom. For instance, every day we practice letter sounds and sight words on the clipboards that were generously donated. Students also practice writing their names and tracing letters with markers and erasers, which they now each have in their own toolkits. We use these tools during dictation to make learning more engaging. Each student received their own set of crayons, which thrilled them beyond measure.\r\n\r\nAs I got to know my students, I realized the value of Ticonderoga pencils with triangle grips, especially since many of them had not attended preschool and lacked prior writing experience. Their grips have improved significantly, thanks to your support. On the first day of school, I used large writing pads to brainstorm rules with the students, and they remain a vital resource for creating anchor charts for our readings and assessments. The laminating sheets have provided durable name tags and QR codes for students to log into their computers effectively.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to ensure these materials last and to teach students how to care for \r\nthem, so future classes can also benefit from them.","fullyFundedDate":1757393193100,"projectUrl":"project/bright-beginnings/9665921/","projectTitle":"Bright Beginnings!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Pérez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10233496"},{"teacherId":7459159,"projectId":9368915,"letterContent":"I want to extend my sincere gratitude for your generous donations to my DonorsChoose project!
