The Scholastic magazine subscriptions have been really helpful in providing my students with varied and interesting reading material. Many of them engaged well with the magazines and read them cover to cover. Students also make use of the motivational pencils and smile at the messages. My students have also received their beautiful blue binders that help to organize their paper-based and written assignments. \r\n\r\nA bonus is that their binders are slowly being covered in stickers of things they are interested in and motivating them to perform well in class. I buy a variety of stickers with images and allow students to choose stickers when we have a productive class session and/or someone does something exceptional. Currently, the choices include Stranger Things, memes, cats and superheroes. The binders serve as a place for students to collect their stickers and continue earning new ones.","fullyFundedDate":1758898855627,"projectUrl":"project/supplied-for-success-in-reading-and-writ/9513327/","projectTitle":"Supplied for Success in Reading and Writing","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Amador","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp363586_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1478882582765","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/damador"},{"teacherId":1649253,"projectId":6587445,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, these new resources are already making a meaningful impact in our classroom. Students are using them during small-group instruction, independent work time, and collaborative activities to better access grade-level content and stay engaged in learning. One especially powerful moment was seeing students who typically struggle with focus or confidence immediately jump in—asking questions, sharing ideas, and supporting one another. The materials helped remove learning barriers and allowed every student to participate more fully.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and heartfelt. They smiled, explored, and asked questions like, \"These are really for us?\" Knowing that people they've never met believed in them enough to support their learning boosted their confidence and motivation. They felt seen, valued, and proud of their classroom.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, students will continue using these resources to strengthen reading comprehension, improve writing responses, and engage in hands-on learning tied to current lessons and projects. These tools will support independence, collaboration, and academic growth as students apply their skills in meaningful ways. Your generosity has given our donors a true glimpse into our classroom and has made a lasting difference in our students' learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1664460986494,"projectUrl":"project/refreshed-classroom-library-and-classroo/6587445/","projectTitle":"Refreshed Classroom Library and Classroom Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Chavarria","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1649253_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1479419974624","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/denise-chavarria"},{"teacherId":10243131,"projectId":9686450,"letterContent":"I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of a printer and paper to our classroom. This contribution has made a profound difference in the way our students engage with their learning. With the printer now available, students have the ability to print out their work, visualize assignments, and take home tangible proof of their progress. This has enhanced not only their understanding of the material but also their pride in their work. The ability to print and share their projects has fostered a greater sense of ownership and accomplishment in their academic journey.\r\nThe excitement among the students has been incredible. Many of them have expressed how much they enjoy seeing their work come to life in print, especially when they get to share it with their families. For some students, this has been an especially empowering experience. For instance, one of my shyest students, who often struggled to turn in handwritten work, now feels more confident and motivated because of the ability to print neatly and clearly. It's been particularly exciting to see these students take more initiative in their learning, often producing extra work to print and share with others. The new technology has not only increased student enthusiasm, but it has also opened up new possibilities for creativity and self-expression in ways we hadn't anticipated. Thank you again for making this possible, your support is making a lasting impact in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1758899115405,"projectUrl":"project/putting-their-work-on-paper-one-page-at/9686450/","projectTitle":"Putting Their Work on Paper, One Page at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valdez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10243131"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_360","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":436,"numTeachers":50,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":81,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"8.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":61.3,"schoolId":360,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Thomas C Giordano Middle School 45 on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Thomas C Giordano Middle School 45","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/jhs-45-thomas-giordano/360"}
