Many of our students love to read, but teaching reading involves helping students build a whole set of skills. These texts have been perfect for that! They have enjoyed the new additions to our classroom library. With these books, we've been able to introduce lessons on making inferences, understanding character motivations, identifying themes, and building strong vocabulary. \r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is active and interactive. Students read independently, in pairs, and in small groups. They stop to jot notes, ask questions, discuss their ideas, and connect the text to their own lives. We often gather for mini-lessons, then break into groups where students talk about their books, share favorite parts, or work through challenging passages together. The room is full of conversation, curiosity, and real excitement about reading.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with the new books. One student who often struggled to stay focused during reading time now asks if we can read \"just a little longer\" because the story captured his attention. It's been amazing to watch students discover a love of reading. Your support has helped make that possible.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students stories that inspire, challenge, and spark joy.","fullyFundedDate":1757532631578,"projectUrl":"project/library-of-possibility/9484090/","projectTitle":"Library of Possibility","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Woods","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7526504_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753071484733","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7526504"},{"teacherId":7526504,"projectId":9483671,"letterContent":"Our new technology and STEM activities have made a tremendous difference in our classroom. Students use it to explore concepts in deeper ways: researching, practicing skills at their own pace, and collaborating with classmates. It has opened the door for more interactive lessons and immediate feedback, which helps them grow more confident and independent as learners.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is how engaging the magnetic tiles are. They love the hands-on activities and the chance to take ownership of their learning. Instead of just listening, they get to create, explore, and problem-solve.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make this possible. Your generosity has given my students opportunities that are already shaping their confidence, skills, and excitement for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757532593117,"projectUrl":"project/readers-are-leaders/9483671/","projectTitle":"Readers are Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Woods","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7526504_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753071484733","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7526504"},{"teacherId":9987728,"projectId":9349409,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous support of our recent art project! With your donations of markers, scrapbook papers, and small sketchbooks, we were able to provide our students with a meaningful, hands-on creative experience. Each student had the opportunity to personalize their own sketchbook, and the excitement and pride they felt in their work was truly heartwarming.\r\n\r\nWe organized the activity in small groups, which gave students the space to explore their creativity more deeply and connect with one another in a focused, encouraging environment. They learned foundational techniques in printmaking and collage—many for the first time—and expressed themselves in ways that were both imaginative and thoughtful. Your contributions made it possible to bring these art practices to life in a tangible and memorable way. We even had extra sketchbooks to allow our schools gifted and talented students to participate!\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our students not only built new artistic skills, but also gained confidence in their creative abilities. We are incredibly grateful for your commitment to arts education and for helping us foster a love of art that will continue to grow. Your gift of Sharpies, watercolors, and new paper has already made a huge impact on my students' learning and creativity. Having access to these high-quality materials allowed us to dive into an exciting art project inspired by Paul Klee.\r\n\r\nThe students designed and painted their own watercolor fish, exploring warm and cool colors while experimenting with line and pattern. They were so proud to work independently—sketching, painting, and then enhancing their artwork with colorful paint sticks for the background. Each piece turned out beautifully unique, and the pride on their faces was priceless.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided us with supplies but also with an opportunity for students to experience the joy of creating art in a meaningful way.
