Because of your generosity, our kindergarten and 1st-grade students now have access to healthy, filling snacks during their school day. This gift may seem small to some, but in reality, it makes a tremendous difference in our classrooms and in the lives of our students.\r\nOur 1st graders have lunch at 1:15 p.m., and our kindergarteners eat at 12:10 p.m. For our youngest learners, that can be a long time to go without something to eat, especially when breakfast is served early in the morning. Young children are growing quickly, both in body and mind, and they burn a lot of energy as they learn, play, and explore. Without a snack to keep them going, it can be very difficult for them to stay focused, engaged, and ready to learn.\r\nThanks to your donations, we can now provide snacks between breakfast and lunch, giving our students the energy they need to power through the most important parts of their school day. That little boost helps them focus on reading, math, and hands-on activities instead of worrying about when they'll eat next. It means fewer distractions caused by hunger and more smiles, more laughter, and more learning.\r\nYour generosity does more than fill stomachs, it sends a powerful message to our students. It tells them that people beyond the walls of our school believe in them, care about their well-being, and want them to succeed. That sense of community and support is just as nourishing as the snacks themselves. It gives our students confidence, reminding them they are valued and cared for.\r\nYour support also eases a burden for families. Some of our students come to school without snacks from home, not because they don't want them, but because it's not always possible. Knowing that the classroom will have something ready for them helps take stress off parents and guardians, and it ensures that every child, no matter their circumstances, has the same opportunity to feel prepared and energized for learning.\r\nFrom our school family to yours, we are truly grateful. You've helped us meet a basic need that directly impacts learning, and you've shown our students that kindness and generosity are powerful forces in the world. Your contribution is not just a gift for today—it's an investment in the bright futures of our Falcons.\r\nOn behalf of our kindergarteners, 1st graders, teachers, and families—thank you for helping us keep our students full, focused, and ready to soar.","fullyFundedDate":1746787300708,"projectUrl":"project/falcon-snack-time/9277472/","projectTitle":"Falcon Snack Time","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sauls","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2604090_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1505144498409","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2604090"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_57435","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":381,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":92,"percentAsian":12,"percentBlack":22,"percentWhite":15,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":43,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.4,"schoolId":57435,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jefferson Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jefferson Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kansas/wichita-public-schools/jefferson-elementary-school/57435"}
