One of the biggest changes I've seen is how much more ownership students are taking—choosing the tools they need, recognizing their emotions, and getting themselves ready to learn without prompting.\r\n\r\nTheir reactions when the materials first arrived was priceless—pure excitement and disbelief that these resources were really for them. It was clear they felt supported and seen.\r\nRight now, students are continuing to build independence by exploring what helps them learn best. These tools are making a real difference in their ability to regulate emotions, stay engaged, and feel confident in the classroom.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting their growth—academically and emotionally.","fullyFundedDate":1755723228927,"projectUrl":"project/a-room-with-a-reason/9512188/","projectTitle":"A Room With a Reason","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Olafson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10099333_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754616469146","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10099333"},{"teacherId":1064081,"projectId":9488092,"letterContent":"My first-grade mathematicians have been excited to work together with our new materials for math. This has helped students work together to build and talk about how to solve problems in math class. They enjoy being grouped into small groups with each magnetic stand-up board. We call it thinking on our feet. The materials were first used to represent word problems so that students could find the parts and the whole in the problem in order to know if they should break apart the numbers or compose them together. The visuals they had at hand enriched their math talks and conversations about how to solve the problems. \r\n\r\nThe paddle whiteboards, markers, and erasers are being used by whole groups while we are practicing or reviewing math concepts for our assessments. They enjoy being able to hold them up to show me or the class.
