We no longer have cords sticking out of desks or cubbies, no tripping or untangling of cords and with our new CRICUT we were able to label them so that there was no confusion over whose headphones belonged to who. \r\n\r\nWhen the BIG boxes started coming in, the kids just watched in amazement waiting for what was going to be coming out of the boxes. Our net project is iron ons for class shirts. It was trial and error but we finally were able to make it. The kids got so excited and we worked in math to the fun. They got to use their classroom dollars to purchase each ingredient needed and items they would like to add to their slime like glitter and food coloring. Everyone's slime was unique and they were glad to show each other their creations. \r\n\r\nWe were also able to give prizes (erasers and pencils) for great work. We are in assessment seasons and thanks your donations, my students are able to take a break and reduce their stress. \r\nFor example, the stretch ball has tremendously helped my students, one in particular. He goes and lay down on the bean bags and uses this ball. I can hear him saying \"breath in, breath out\" as he stretches it. Now other students are using too, and that one student suggested them\r\nto do the \"breath in, breath out\" technique. \r\nThe other materia was the pop out sensory toys. Your donation has come in handy during those instances and during our fun Fridays. They get rewarded a snack and juice if they have been an outstanding student all week. The kids are having a blast figuring out if they have enough money to purchase different things. The workbooks have been giving them real life scenarios and they have been enjoying this new skill that will be something they will use the rest of their lives. \r\n\r\nThere was this one worksheet that asked them to create a cake with different flavors of cake, frosting and toppings then totaling the cost. They enjoyed that lesson so much because they were asked who the cake was for and most of them said it was for their mom. It has made a great impact to their learning.
