Gone were the days of \"I can't find the paper!\" \r\n\r\nMy third graders, though, think the best part of this DonorsChoose project was the pencil sharpener! My students couldn't get over how perfectly it sharpens colored pencils. I've never seen my students just so happy over a simple tool in our classroom. \r\n\r\nAnd finally, the books. The picture books from this project will be used for years to come. For example, in each chapter book, students examined how the main characters. Students learned to discuss character traits, character strengths and weaknesses, relationships with other characters, and so on. Students learned to examine setting and how it contributes to the overall story. \r\n\r\nI am so thankful for your support with this project. I adore sharing picture books with my third graders because it is a beautiful way to create connections within and across texts.
