For example, I roll it out during our small-group phonics rotations. One group uses the phoneme set to practice hearing and blending sounds; another works with the sound-segmenting trays (Elkonin boxes) to break words apart and then rebuild them.\r\n\r\nWhen I unveiled the Wagon and the trays, etc., there was quiet wonder at first — \"Oooh! What is that?\" \"What do we get to do with that?\"\r\n\r\nThere was real excitement and energy. It made the slippery work of phonemic awareness feel more like play — which lowered stress and resistance. \r\n\r\nGoing forward, I'm going to shift students toward self-guided stations using the Wagon. For example, after modeling a new phonemic pattern, I'll assign tasks where students pick from the materials on the cart: segmenting trays, phoneme trays, or the phoneme phone, to practice the new pattern.\r\n\r\nThank you so much for your generosity to me and my class.","fullyFundedDate":1746540405648,"projectUrl":"project/word-wizard-wagon/9222214/","projectTitle":"Word Wizard Wagon","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Fisher","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2583386"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9677","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1157,"numTeachers":87,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":35,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"13.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":68.7,"schoolId":9677,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jack Faubion Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jack Faubion Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/mckinney-ind-school-dist/jack-faubion-middle-school/9677"}
