Your contribution has made an incredible impact on both our students and our teaching practices.\r\n\r\nThe puppets have brought a playful and engaging element to our lessons, allowing students to connect with complex geometry concepts in a fun and interactive way. The puppets serve as dynamic teaching tools that help bring abstract ideas to life, fostering a sense of creativity and deeper understanding. Students eagerly look forward to each lesson, excited to see how the puppets will help demonstrate new geometric principles.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the geometric shapes have been invaluable in helping students visualize and manipulate various geometric figures. These hands-on resources have provided them with the opportunity to experiment, explore, and develop their spatial reasoning skills, which are essential in mastering geometry standards.\r\n\r\nThanks to your thoughtful donation, our students are not only learning key mathematical concepts but are also gaining confidence in their ability to apply these concepts to real-world scenarios. The positive impact of your support is evident in the enthusiasm and success we're seeing in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your generosity and commitment to supporting education. Your donation has made a lasting difference in the lives of our students, and we look forward to continuing to provide them with a rich and engaging learning experience.","fullyFundedDate":1761937238665,"projectUrl":"project/geometry-with-puppets/9692044/","projectTitle":"Geometry With Puppets!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3530108_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1528905074315","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3530108"},{"teacherId":3530108,"projectId":9691876,"letterContent":"I want to express my heartfelt thanks for your generous support and for providing motivational rewards to my 6th grade math class. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on my students—not just in their academic performance, but in their confidence, engagement, and overall attitude toward learning mathematics.\r\n\r\nIn 6th grade, students are working hard to master essential math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. These are foundational concepts that they will carry with them throughout their academic journey and into everyday life.\r\n\r\nMotivational rewards provide the extra encouragement many of my students need to stay focused and persistent, especially when the work gets challenging. These incentives help me create a positive and engaging classroom environment, where effort is celebrated, growth is recognized, and students feel proud of their progress.\r\n\r\nWith your support, I can reinforce important milestones—like mastering the steps to multiply mixed numbers, adding and subtracting decimals accurately, or confidently dividing multi-digit whole numbers. For many of my students, these skills once seemed out of reach, but now, with consistent effort and encouragement, they are achieving goals they didn't think were possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students' success. Your generosity is helping them develop not only stronger math skills but also a deeper belief in their own potential.","fullyFundedDate":1758123316085,"projectUrl":"project/mathematics-rewards-and-motivators/9691876/","projectTitle":"Mathematics Rewards and Motivators","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3530108_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1528905074315","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3530108"},{"teacherId":3530108,"projectId":9691948,"letterContent":"On behalf of my sixth grade classroom, I want to sincerely thank you for your generous donation of health and hygiene items. Your kindness has made a meaningful difference in our daily school experience.\r\n\r\nThe items you provided—such as snacks, brushes, deoderants, Q-tips, and other essential supplies—have helped create a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable environment for my students. These donations are especially important as we continue to teach the importance of personal hygiene and responsibility, both for individual well-being and for the health of our classroom community.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, students are better able to focus on learning without worrying about basic needs. Many of them have taken more initiative in keeping their space clean and have shown greater awareness of the importance of staying healthy. These are life skills that go far beyond the classroom, and your donation helped make that possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and support of our students. The nets of three dimensional shapes were an exciting hands-on way for students to manipulate and build 3D shapes. The shapes students learned included: rectangular prisms, cubes, pentagonal prisms, hexagonal prisms, triangular pyramids, square pyramids, hexagonal pyramids, pentagonal pyramids, cylinders, and cones. Students were able to use these nets to assist them in naming shapes and drawing their nets.\r\n Next, student learned about surface area. They used their knowledge of the area formulas for rectangles, squares, and triangles to develop expressions like SA=bh*4(1/2bh) for example for the surface area of a square pyramid. This models were priceless in helping students move from three dimensions to two dimensions. Their visual spacial skills improved immensely as well.\r\n The kids really loved using these materials as we studied geometry! They were excited every time we pulled them out. From basic shapes to perimeter, area, and volume formulas, we integrated them into our learning each day. We are preparing for state assessments next week and we will be using these materials again for our review sessions. Motivation is what my students need to help them achieve maximum growth in mathematics this school year. We started at the bottom with basic math fact mastery and moved on to mastery of fractions and decimals. The reward materials you have helped provide are given to students after they master each level of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in each of these areas. This foundation is crucial in their success with the Next Generation Standards for Mathematics in sixth grade.\r\n\r\nIndividualized instruction is important in our classroom and students chart their progress as a visual model of their personal growth. Over 30% of my students have completed mastery of facts and have progressed to working on mastery of the sixth grade content. This means they have mastered ratios, rates, percents, fraction and decimal division, the coordinate plane, negative numbers, etc. We are excited to report that three of our students have even mastered 50% of the 7th grade standards already!","fullyFundedDate":1731541262887,"projectUrl":"project/mathematics-motivators/8835063/","projectTitle":"Mathematics Motivators","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Weston","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3530108_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1528905074315","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3530108"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_22414","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":430,"numTeachers":52,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":95,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":0,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"8.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_REMOTE"},"inStateSupporters":39.5,"schoolId":22414,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John F Kennedy Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John F Kennedy Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/ogdensburg-city-school-district/j-f-kennedy-elementary-school/22414"}
