Everyone was excited to try it, and it quickly became part of how we plan and write. It's helped us stay organized and get ideas down more easily—without the mess of a bunch of paper.\r\n\r\nOne student in our group has always struggled with messy handwriting, and the Remarkable has been a huge help for him. He can write like he normally does, and the tablet converts it into neat, typed text. That's taken a lot of pressure off, and now he shares more without feeling self-conscious about how his writing looks. It's also helped us cut down on all the paper we used to go through—most of which ended up in the trash by the end of the day.\r\n\r\nAnother cool thing is that it actually gives us a chance to practice handwriting, which is something most people don't do much anymore. With everyone so used to typing, writing by hand feels a little different—some students even find it kind of fun. It's a nice way to slow down and think about what we're saying in our announcements.","fullyFundedDate":1742997374626,"projectUrl":"project/elevating-morning-announcements-confide/9115345/","projectTitle":"Elevating Morning Announcements: Confidence, Clarity, and a Paperless Future!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Laborda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9842004_orig.jpg?crop=436,436,x0,y95&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734369502239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9842004"},{"teacherId":9842004,"projectId":8952125,"letterContent":"Our morning announcements used to be, well... pretty boring. Just a voice over the intercom that most people ignored. But thanks to DonorsChoose, we've taken things to a whole new level—and we're the first school in the entire district to do it! Now, we've got a real-deal, student-run TV broadcast every morning, and the energy is off the charts. My students are running cameras, setting up lights, mixing audio, and writing scripts that actually make people pay attention. They're not just learning tech skills—they're gaining confidence, working as a team, and figuring out how to problem-solve when things (inevitably) go wrong. It's been amazing to watch them take charge and make this project their own.\r\n\r\nThe coolest part? Seeing kids discover talents they didn't even know they had. One super shy student has totally found his groove in video editing, and another who never thought he'd be into tech is now the go-to soundboard expert. They're experimenting, getting creative, and making our school announcements something people actually look forward to. More than anything, this project has given them a sense of pride—not just in their work, but in being part of something bigger. We're leading the way in our district, showing what's possible when students are given the right tools and the freedom to innovate. And honestly, that's the best part of all.","fullyFundedDate":1739371112237,"projectUrl":"project/amplifying-student-voices-building-an-e/8952125/","projectTitle":"Amplifying Student Voices: Building an Engaging Morning Announcement Team","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Laborda","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9842004_orig.jpg?crop=436,436,x0,y95&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734369502239","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9842004"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_106702","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":292,"numTeachers":9,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":43,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"32.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":86.4,"schoolId":106702,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Ischool High the Woodlands on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Ischool High the Woodlands","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/texas-department-of-education/ischool-high-the-woodlands/106702"}
