This tool has allowed us to safely and efficiently work with cardboard, opening the door to more ambitious, hands-on, and culturally rich art projects.\r\n\r\nWe have already used the Chomp Saw in numerous projects across grade levels. Students used it to cut and construct Puerto Rican Vejigante masks, learning about folklore, symbolism, and cultural identity while building strong three-dimensional forms. During Día de los Muertos, students created monarch butterflies and giant 3D paper-mâché foods, using cardboard armatures cut with the Chomp Saw to support their designs. In the winter months, students designed cardboard polar bears and gingerbread houses, focusing on structure, balance, and craftsmanship.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the Chomp Saw, their excitement was immediate. Many had never used a specialized art tool before and were amazed by how cleanly and easily it cut cardboard. Students felt empowered and trusted, and the tool quickly became a favorite part of the art room. It allowed them to work more independently while staying safe, and it significantly reduced frustration when cutting thicker materials.\r\n\r\nBy contributing to this project, you received a glimpse into a classroom where creativity, culture, and sustainability come together. Our next steps include expanding our cardboard work into larger collaborative sculptures and functional art, while continuing to emphasize recycled materials, problem-solving, and cultural storytelling through art. Because of you, my students are thinking bigger, building stronger, and seeing themselves as capable artists and creators.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this meaningful learning possible.","fullyFundedDate":1757098337583,"projectUrl":"project/electric-cardboard-cutter-for-creative/9547180/","projectTitle":"Electric Cardboard Cutter for Creative, Sustainable Sculptures","teacherDisplayName":"Sra. Teenagers are hungry all the time—and when you add the challenges of economic disadvantage, many families are doing the best they can with what they have. Sometimes that means sending their children to school hungry.\r\nFor many students, school is the one place where they find a warm meal and caring teachers who often spend from their own pockets to provide essentials and snacks, striving to level the playing field.\r\nYour donation made our students feel special and seen. Because of you, they know they matter—and that education goes beyond the walls of this building. It's about giving back and helping others. Our students were not only able to learn because a basic need was met; they also learned an important lesson in humanity, kindness, and what it means to support a community.\r\nWe are humbly grateful for your generosity and kindness. The children are using them for small group activities, hands-on centers, and collaborative projects. One of our favorite moments so far was during a community mural activity—students gathered around the new tables with crayons, markers, and paint to create drawings of their families and neighborhood. Having the extra space allowed every child to spread out comfortably and share their ideas with one another.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first walked in and saw the new tables, their faces lit up with excitement. They immediately noticed that they had \"big kid\" tables, and many of them couldn't wait to sit down and get started on their work. It was heartwarming to see their pride and joy in their new classroom environment.\r\n\r\nYour support has given my students not just furniture, but a space that encourages collaboration, independence, and creativity. Right now, we are working on a unit about \"Our School and Community.\" The tables are being used daily for building projects with blocks, group art activities, and early literacy lessons. Next, we will be diving into a project about \"Helping Hands in Our Community,\" where the students will create thank-you cards and crafts to share with community helpers—all made together at our new tables.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving my students a learning space that helps them feel capable, valued, and inspired every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1746536414069,"projectUrl":"project/tiny-tables-for-big-learning/9256485/","projectTitle":"Tiny Tables for Big Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Longoria","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8893894_orig.jpg?crop=960,960,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1670853137625","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msllongoria3"},{"teacherId":8133890,"projectId":8771248,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your book donation.
