You've made all the difference to get this year started off on the right foot, with clear expectations, and with a very important book to use towards achieving their goals for speech therapy. In the couple of years that I've been working with these students in my community, I've never been off to a calmer and fresher start than this year. The fact that they are not getting this kind of personal instruction/therapy in their classrooms (because there is never enough time) means the world to me, but I know for sure, that they have benefited in a most positive way.\r\n\r\nNow the main book that we use in our speech sessions has been \"1984\" by George Orwell. We know it to be a very deep, thematic, and eye-opening book that has real-world implications, and though they are more reluctant to read the regular book (no pictures, just ink) every single one of them has been excited to work with the graphic novel YOU helped provide! They get excited to make inferences, ask questions, and find out more about how one would navigate the world of Oceania (some have even made connections to today and what is going on here in the US as well as around the world). I've made my own work sheets, graphic organizers, and real-world examples around the first chapter of the book since it introduces many concepts & it has helped them TREMENDOUSLY!\r\n\r\nMy students have especially been grateful for the incentives that they receive after they do well within a certain amount of sessions of speech. They have appreciated a simple bottle of water, a midday snack, or a simple stress-relieving tool. It has piqued their curiosity, allows them to participate more actively in sessions, and they just like to feel rewarded at the end with all the work they've accomplished so far. Already, they are so eager to find out what happens in the following chapters, and we'll tackle that as we progress in the year. We thank you SO MUCH for helping us carry on, for helping them make connections in the world, and I thank you personally for influencing them in a constructive and caring way. Everything we do in speech...is VERY GOOD! THANK YOU KINDLY!!","fullyFundedDate":1756403511625,"projectUrl":"project/blessed-bilingual-speech-therapy-for-mul/9650410/","projectTitle":"Blessed Bilingual Speech Therapy for Multilingual High-Schoolers","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Polanco","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8914381_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757436954302","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8914381"},{"teacherId":9471690,"projectId":9314861,"letterContent":"My students and I truly appreciate you joining us in our brain break with games. Test prep becomes a breeze when you have something to look forward to. Student's couldn't believe someone donated all these games. When the students first saw the materials, their eyes widened with excitement! They couldn't wait to get their hands dirty and start planting. The donated plants and gardening accessories added a touch of magic to our classroom, transforming it into a vibrant and interactive learning space. Students were fascinated by the variety of plants and tools, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their own experiences with gardening. The enthusiasm was contagious, and soon the entire class was buzzing with energy and creativity.\r\nAs we move forward, our next steps involve exploring the art of propagation. Students will be learning about different methods of plant propagation, including seed starting, cuttings, and division. They'll be experimenting with various techniques, observing and documenting their results, and sharing their findings with the class. Our goal is to create a thriving propagation collection that students can pot and share with teachers and peers, spreading kindness and joy throughout the school. We're excited to see our students' skills and confidence grow as they continue to nurture and care for their plants, and we're grateful to our donors for making this project possible.","fullyFundedDate":1755436564269,"projectUrl":"project/sprouting-smiles/9609014/","projectTitle":"Sprouting Smiles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Montero","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10181575_orig.jpg?crop=613,613,x0,y284&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755315443975","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10181575"},{"teacherId":9471690,"projectId":9314730,"letterContent":"Student's love to work especially when rewarded with snacks.
