When the printer and ink arrived, I was in disbelief. While I knew the project had been funded online, seeing the actual items in person filled me with overwhelming joy. All my classes knew about the printer request, and when they learned we had received it, their screams and shouts of excitement were truly remarkable to witness.\r\n\r\nTechnology is an integral part of our daily lives, and the classroom is no exception. My students use district-issued laptops daily for various online programs and Google Translate, as English is a second or third language for all of them. Every year, I give students an opportunity to creatively explore technology while connecting to English language learning. This school year we worked on autobiographies and biographies. Students were also given the opportunity to select from the following creative projects: video commercials, public service announcements, or movie trailers. I have been incorporating these end-of-year projects throughout most of my career, and each year I marvel at my students' creativity and execution.\r\n\r\nThis printer will now assist my students in various ways, including project-based learning, creating visual interactive station cards and boards, journals, magazine creation, and much more. We have already started using the printer in our summer school classes to help students with reading fluency task sheets and activities.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity. Through your kindness, we are able to achieve projects and activities that would once have been more challenging because we lacked the supplies to complete them. Your investment in these students' education will have a lasting impact on their learning and growth.","fullyFundedDate":1746835198695,"projectUrl":"project/seeking-reliable-color-printer-to-suppor/9073779/","projectTitle":"Seeking Reliable Color Printer to Support Immigrant English Language Learners'","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. King","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9904060_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y146&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737492690928","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9904060"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_17845","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":254,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":94,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":18,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":61,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 9","studentTeacherRatio":"5.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":58.6,"schoolId":17845,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about International Newcomer Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"International Newcomer Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/fort-worth-independent-school-district/international-newcomer-academy/17845"}
