Students are practicing comprehension strategies such as making predictions, identifying main ideas, and drawing inferences. Many of the books also encourage rich vocabulary development and give opportunities for students to connect stories to their own experiences, which builds deeper engagement and critical thinking. Beyond the mechanics of reading, these texts also help us practice important lessons like empathy, perseverance, and understanding different perspectives.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, reading looks interactive and joyful. Students read both independently and in small groups, often followed by discussions, partner shares, or response activities that encourage them to think critically about what they've read. The books are displayed in a way that invites curiosity, and students have the freedom to choose titles that interest them, which keeps motivation high. We also integrate read-alouds where I model fluency and expression, making stories come alive while guiding students to notice themes and literary elements.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers are especially enjoying the new books. For example, a few reluctant readers have gravitated toward high-interest stories that match their hobbies and backgrounds, and their excitement has carried over into more consistent reading practice. Others who already loved reading now feel challenged and inspired by the fresh variety of texts. It has been wonderful to see the spark these books have created, turning reading time into one of the most anticipated parts of our day.","fullyFundedDate":1747351937671,"projectUrl":"project/pages-with-purpose-help-us-build-our-cl/9350496/","projectTitle":"Pages with Purpose: Help Us Build Our Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Burleson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9061810_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y190&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741877494510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9061810"},{"teacherId":9061810,"projectId":9169486,"letterContent":"Adding a construction paper organizer to my room has made a noticeable difference in keeping supplies tidy and accessible. Instead of loose stacks of paper taking up space or getting bent and wrinkled, each color and type now has its own slot. This makes it much easier to find exactly what you need for projects and helps maintain a cleaner, more organized work area. It also adds a sense of order and efficiency, reducing the stress of searching through clutter when it's time to create.\r\n\r\nThe 12-bucket storage shelf has had an even bigger impact by giving everything in the room a proper place. Whether it's art supplies, toys, or classroom materials, the buckets make it simple to categorize and store items while still being easy to grab when needed. The visual neatness of having items contained instead of scattered creates a calmer, more inviting space. Together, the organizer and storage shelf not only improve functionality but also give the room a more structured, intentional feel, making it both practical and welcoming.","fullyFundedDate":1746786058149,"projectUrl":"project/organization-is-key/9169486/","projectTitle":"Organization Is Key!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Burleson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9061810_orig.jpg?crop=1242,1242,x0,y190&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741877494510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9061810"},{"teacherId":6312380,"projectId":5119756,"letterContent":"I wanted to thank you for the wonderful donation to my classroom.
