There were ohs , ahs, and big smiles. What made me so happy was that they couldn't wait to open them and explore the pages. I have them displayed on a little table so they can access them . I am doing a project using the book about Yayoi Kusama , the Japanese artist famous for her signature dots , often on pumpkins. The new book brings another resource to the children as they create in her style.\r\n My students do not get to go to the public library hardly ever and there is even less opportunity for them to get to an Art Museum so having these beautiful books brings the cultural experience to them through the pages and photographs. I am actually doing a three dimensional museum with Kindergarten and the various books help me to show them what a museum is . The aha moments when the older students can actually see a masterpice and read about a famous artist is priceless.\r\n I am a teacher who loves books. Having a \"classroom\"library even while teaching from a cart is so rewarding for all of us.
