One of the most used daily (sometimes hourly) is the tissues. Virus and flu season has hit this Fall already and many students return to school with a runny or stuffed up nose. The Clorox wipes are used frequently. I haven't had to use any of the first aid kit but it gives me peace to know it is there if we need it. The paper towels have been used and I keep a roll out on a front table, next to the hand sanitizer, Chlorox wipes and tissues.. My self contained special education students enjoy both relaxing back there, reading or working on group projects. If we are looking at pla PowerPoint or a film, we turn off the overhead lights and use the lamp you provided us. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, a group of general education students come in during every math assessment and use the reading area with the lamp to small group test in my room. A couple after school programs have used the back of my room and reading nook with the lamp. It has been a blessing to many. The positive and calm posters included in this project have help set the tone for a calm area. Our classroom is a safe space where my special education students can regulate their nervous system, away from the often overwhelming hallways of middle school. I initially thought this was just for my SLC students but even today an 8th grade general education student stopped by and asked if she could stay just a half hour. Many students and groups have enjoyed the posters, reading area and lamp. Additional my classroom has been used for after-school detention. Students in that after school area have to fill out reflective restorative processes. They have used my flexible seating are for that program. \r\n\r\n Thank you for providing comfort for many students throughout each day. I am glad there is an oasis where students can come relax or complete work in an alternative seating area. I appreciate you and your care in providing our special education flexible seating. This project included supplies such as a classroom broom, which both me and my students use daily. Being able to keep our classroom orderly helps alleviate the time constraints on custodial staff because our room is just one of many they support. \r\n\r\nThe designer erasers were a hit with the middle school students that volunteer in the community after school. We shared these with the local elementary school kindergarten to 2nd grade students. Of course, the middle school students kept a few too. The washable markers have been used almost daily. My middle school students use them for projects. We also use them during our community service. The colored masking tape has held student work and posters in our room, the hallways, and the library.
