With that money, I was able to purchase some additional rocket engines for the rockets I ordered. This means that all of my students will be able to build, launch and keep the own rocket, as well as launch it twice here at school with me. I have only been able to have my kids launch twice like that these last couple of years, and it has made the project a lot more fun.\r\n\r\nI have no pictures yet. We are not doing the rockets until we get to our unit on Space, which is in March/April timeframe. It was great. Our 12 year olds/sixth graders learned about 8th grade concepts such as Force = Mass x Acceleration. They learned about the history of the space programs in the US and the world. We learned about the impact of the space program on our home state of Florida.\r\n\r\nAs part of my teaching this year, I arranged a field trip for my students to Kennedy Space Center. They got a chance to absorb the history of of our space program. I really hope to inspire my students to be engineers and scientists one day. With your help, maybe I can. Thank you so very much.
