Because of your support, our high school special education classroom—specifically designed for students with emotional and behavioral disabilities—has been transformed into a more peaceful, supportive, and healing environment.\r\n\r\nThe yoga mats you provided have become so much more than just tools for stretching or mindfulness—they are now essential parts of our daily routine. From the very beginning, students took ownership by helping create rules around how to respectfully use the mats. They now use them each day during mindfulness activities through the Calm app, as well as for morning emotional check-ins.\r\n\r\nMore importantly, these mats have become safe spaces for students to regulate their emotions and reconnect with their bodies. Many students take calming breaks, lie down to breathe deeply, read quietly, or even take short naps when overwhelmed. Some prefer to use the mats while working on their computers, finding comfort in the soft, personal space they provide. This flexibility has helped students tune into how their bodies feel, recognize when they need a break, and begin developing lifelong tools for self-regulation.\r\n\r\nWe often talk about how hard it is to focus on learning when our minds are overwhelmed—whether with school stress or things going on outside of school. Your donation has allowed us to create a classroom where students feel safe enough to let go of that weight, even just for a little while.
