The magnetic building blocks are a huge hit. They look just like a favorite computerized building game, but it allows them to engage with real people, and build in real life, instead of the computer. This leads to fun conversations, and more creatity. \r\n\r\nThe colored tape is a staple in our creation station. It gives students a wonderful medium to create and put things together in ways that regular white glue won't, because it takes so long to dry. The illustrations are realistic to our region, and the kids can really relate to the stories and settings. \r\n\r\nKids have even used our puppets to retell a recent read during our playbased learning time. It is very exicting to see an author's work become a place of excitement! The biggest change due to this project is the microphone! My students have time for play-based learning each day and then we have a time to share out. They can be a little timid when sharing something they've worked so hard on, and this microphone helps us hear all of their amazing discoveries!
