Your generous donation of VersaTiles Kits has brought an incredible energy and excitement to our 4th and 5th grade classroom. These hands-on learning tools have completely transformed the way my students practice and explore math concepts. Instead of relying on screens or traditional worksheets, they now eagerly engage in self-paced challenges that strengthen their problem-solving skills, number sense, and confidence—all while having fun.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been both academic and emotional. Students who were once hesitant about math are now motivated to \"beat their best time\" or solve just one more puzzle before the bell rings. The tactile, game-like structure of the VersaTiles allows each student to learn through movement, curiosity, and immediate feedback, helping them see mistakes as opportunities rather than setbacks. It's been especially rewarding to watch collaboration and conversation bloom as students check each other's work, celebrate successes, and discover multiple ways to solve the same problem.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and belief in the power of hands-on, screen-free learning. Because of your support, my students are not only strengthening their math skills—they're also building persistence, confidence, and a genuine love for learning that will stay with them for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1755748449716,"projectUrl":"project/screen-free-math-games/9408604/","projectTitle":"Screen Free Math Games!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schock","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2988149_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1449075362200","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/bschock"},{"teacherId":2988149,"projectId":9368507,"letterContent":"Because of your generous support, my students have been able to practice and master their math facts in a way that was both fun and effective. The hands-on game materials you provided turned what was once a stressful and repetitive task into an exciting opportunity for learning, collaboration, and growth.\r\n\r\nStudents can use dice, cards, and interactive games to strengthen their fluency with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts. I have already seen and will continue to see a noticeable shift in their confidence—students who once hesitated or avoided participating in math activities began engaging eagerly, often asking to play the games again during free time. The friendly competition and collaborative play created a classroom culture where students encouraged one another and celebrated progress together.\r\n\r\nThese game materials will provide the repeated practice necessary for building automaticity, but in a way that feels joyful and meaningful. Students will develop stronger number sense, increased speed with recall, and a more positive attitude toward math overall.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has given my students the tools they need to build essential math foundations while also fostering a sense of accomplishment and belonging. The algebra tiles you provided brought abstract concepts to life and gave my students the confidence to approach math with curiosity rather than fear.\r\n\r\nWith these manipulatives, students practiced combining like terms, distributing, and solving both single- and multi-step equations in ways that were hands-on and engaging. Instead of simply memorizing steps, they built deep understanding and were able to apply their learning to new problems with confidence. I watched students who once felt frustrated with math begin to collaborate, explore, and even enjoy the challenge.\r\n\r\nMany of my students had never used manipulatives beyond their elementary years, and they were amazed at how helpful these tools were for understanding more complex concepts. The tiles served as a bridge between confusion and clarity, helping students see that math is not just about procedures but about making sense of ideas.\r\n\r\nYour generosity made math meaningful and fun for my classroom.
