What may seem like simple rolling desks and chairs have truly elevated the atmosphere of our campus and the way our students see themselves.\r\n\r\nFor the students we serve, these new additions represent so much more than comfort—they represent pride, belonging, and possibility. When they come into our intervention room, their posture changes; they sit taller, speak with confidence, and feel like professionals ready to take on any challenge. Many of them have even asked to have lunch in this space because it feels special and inspiring—like they're part of something important.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only improved our physical space but has also uplifted our students' spirits and sense of self-worth. While these technologies might be common at home, in a special education classroom like mine, they become so much more: visual supports, engagement tools, and bridges to deeper understanding.\r\n\r\nThe document camera enables me to model tasks in real-time—everything from handwriting practice to math strategies to visual schedules. For my students with autism, clear visual instructions are essential. When they see my hands doing the work live, it reduces anxiety and confusion. One student who usually hesitates during transitions now follows along with a visual routine shown under the document camera, which has made our day smoother and less stressful for him. Another student, who has difficulty holding attention during group instruction, now watches intently as I solve math problems or demonstrate science experiments right in front of her, projected large enough for the whole class to see.\r\n\r\nThe screen stylus has been a game-changer for student participation. My nonverbal student uses the stylus to draw answers and show comprehension during literacy lessons, giving him a way to shine and communicate without speaking. A student working on fine motor skills practices tracing letters and shapes directly on the interactive screen, improving not only writing but also confidence. Another student, who often avoids group tasks, has become the first to volunteer when it's time to \"help the teacher\" by using the stylus during shared reading or morning meeting activities.\r\n\r\nWhat's most exciting is seeing my students light up when it's their turn to interact. These tools have helped them feel seen, capable, and included. Thank you for providing us with resources that are not only educational but also empowering. Your support has made our classroom a more interactive, accessible, and joyful place.","fullyFundedDate":1753739918473,"projectUrl":"project/see-it-learn-it-enhancing-instruction/9508389/","projectTitle":"See It, Learn It: Enhancing Instruction With Visual Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Yamamoto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9371742"},{"teacherId":9628841,"projectId":8559592,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contribution to our STEM curriculum resources. Because of your support, students had the opportunity to dive into hands-on experiments and interactive lessons that sparked their curiosity and deepened their understanding of science, technology, engineering, and math. From building models to conducting experiments, students were fully engaged: working collaboratively, thinking critically, and experiencing the joy of discovery in every lab and lesson.\r\n\r\nYour donation not only enriched our students' learning but also provided invaluable support to our teachers. With high-quality resources at their fingertips, educators were able to dedicate their energy to instruction and student engagement rather than creating materials from scratch.
