I have organized all of my books by topic. So now when I am planning lessons or working with my students, I can easily access the book(s) I need. This has made my space so much more calming because of the organization materials. The book bins have also added some needed color to my bookshelves!\r\nThe BEST part of this Donors Choose was the calm down posters and resources I have added to my space. I have a dedicated Calm Down corner in my office, including breathing posters, an emotion wheel, and calming strategies. This has allowed a comforting, welcoming area for my students to relax and practice calm down strategies. That has been a huge school wide initiative we have been implementing! Thanks to you, you've aided in my program. :) My students have been so excited to see these posters and new calm down tools. They've really helped with our emotion regulation. I was stunned when one child held up one of the travel book and told me about visiting there. \r\n\r\nBilingual children are special. They think and function in two languages, sometimes all at once. Some of them serve as translators for their parents and family members. Students find it to be both challenging and rewarding. \r\n\r\nI ordered the large \"fidget\"for a few of my students that struggle to keep their hands still. It works because it is large and focuses their attention to their fingertips. It seems to be the kind of fidget that calms my students. They don't have to look at or manipulate this item. I have seen one child rubbing it while working.
