The day the supplies arrived, the students' faces lit up—they eagerly unpacked the colorful markers and organized their new pencil boxes with excitement. They can't wait to use the anchor charts to create visual math reference guides that will help them during lessons. The clipboards will make it easy for us to move around the room for group projects, and the fresh supplies will encourage even my most reluctant students to participate. As we continue our unit on ratios and proportions, these tools will help students create creative, hands-on math projects they can use as study guides and share with each other. Your support has not only provided materials—it has inspired confidence, collaboration, and a love for learning in my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1753753256461,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-stay-sharp-and-organized/9385223/","projectTitle":"Help Us Stay Sharp and Organized","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7805482_orig.jpg?crop=480,480,x0,y25&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1667925760950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7805482"},{"teacherId":3819354,"projectId":9066670,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for your donation! I was also able to teach students how to take better pictures for things such as our yearbook or our newsletter. I was also able to take better footage for our Rays Rallies, which is essentially a monthly pep rally. \r\n\r\nOnce again, I really appreciate everyone who donated money for this camera! It has been a catalyst of many interesting group discussions, deep and rewarding analysis, and a reprieve to the daily stressors a student faces. \r\n\r\nThe novel, \"Renegades\" by Marissa Meyer was foreign to my students. They have never heard of this type of book before or ever read a novel. \r\n\r\nAt first, they were unsure. \"What do you mean write a reflection? What is a reflection?\" \"I don't think I can read 50 pages\", \"Wait, the point of view shifted. Why?\", \"I think I like Nova the best\", \"No one likes Ingrid, but I understand her\". These questions got deeper, more thoughtful, and more considerate. Discussions began to be more relatable; livlier. Until, eventually, I heard the impossible. \r\n\r\n552 pages later before the last due date: \"I already finished the book. Do you have the second?\". \r\n\r\nStudents have attached themselves to a character or many characters, making required reading something they couldn't stop reading. In the beginning, I had to warn them the consequences of not reading. At the end, I had to remind them to not go so ahead and slow down. \r\n\r\nThis reading has changed many of their perspectives and beliefs about reading. It can be fun, entertaining, an escape, a \"favorite book\" while also teaching amazing lessons on what it means to be not only a hero, but human. I do not know how to express my gratitude for the difference this has made in my students. \r\n\r\nNo only do they have a fresh appreciation for the novel, but they have a fresh new belief about themselves and reading with ready-to-go annotation and discussion skills. \r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart! Neither me nor my students will ever forget what this has done to create a lively, productive, and fun ELA experience.","fullyFundedDate":1734914662933,"projectUrl":"project/active-reading-with-superheroes-and-vill/9003838/","projectTitle":"Active Reading With Superheroes and Villains","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Smith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9872499_orig.jpg?crop=1097,1097,x0,y58&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1734029648245","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9872499"},{"teacherId":3819354,"projectId":8924557,"letterContent":"To say I'm completely grateful for all that you have done for our media club seems like a very small gesture; however, I think it's exactly how it sums up how we feel with our supplies. It has not disappointed! \r\n\r\nStudents learned about the mythology and stories surrounding dragons from around the world. They also learned how to use a variety of clay techniques.
